Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Will these fit on skis that are not bc

They will fit any ski that is 59mn wide at mounting point. They will fit on skis that are less than 59 mm wide, but depending on how much less the binding will over hang the edge of the ski.

2. Is the mounting plate for the bindings included?

So the entire binding mounts directly to the skimounted it myself wasent too bad ..just predrill the wholes a little bit ..add glue put binding down then send the screws.fyi this is for bc xc skis prolly too wide of a binding for regular xc skisalso you need bc xc boots because the size of the locking bar is different

3. Will these work with bcx 3 boots?

They should work with all back country boots NNN ski boots.
All NNN back country ski boots have the same size bar under the toes to fit into BC bindings

4. What makes these “men’s” bindings? How would unisex or women’s differ?

These bindings are unisex. The binding takes nnn style boot, same for both genders.

6. Alpina Sports Women’s Montana Eve Backcountry Cross Country Nordic Ski Boots

Sometimes you wish the track was already set and ready for you to speed across the backcountry on your Nordic skis, but that isn’t what the backcountry is all about, so tie up the Alpina Women’s Montana Eve Touring Boot and set that track like it was your job. This comfortable touring boot keeps your foot prime for stomping freshies for miles, and the moderately stiff flex assures the support you need for long days.

Alpina built the Montana Eve out of a durable synthetic leather upper with a rubber overlay for toe protection. It has a women-specific last that allows your toes to splay comfortably during all-day tours. Thinsulate insulation assures winter-worthy warmth, and the anatomic footbed includes thermal insulation so your body doesn’t drain warmth overtime. The boot’s BC III sole accommodates NNN Nordic ski bindings.

6. Alpina Sports Alaska 75 Leather 3 Pin 75 mm Backcountry Cross

The Alpina Alaska 75mm Backcountry Boot is bold, strong, and no-nonsense. Alpina modeled it on a burly hiking boot, with a tough leather and synthetic upper that protects your foot from the elements and endows the boot with a moderately stiff flex for plenty of control, uphill and down. For extra protection, it integrated a waterproof and breathable Alpitex membrane into the boot, so extended tours won’t leave your feet soaked and also included Thinsulate insulation to keep your toes warm when you’re making your way through wild woods, up steep hills, and across untracked fields.

The Vibram sole provides a solid and fairly stiff platform for increased control of wider, heavier skis, and the anatomic footbed supports your arch for serious comfort when you’re spending the whole day on the move.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. EUR size conversion to us?

my foot is 7.5 in US size. 38 EUR fits perfect.

2. Will these work with Axl telemark bindings?

Hi, I don’t think so. The duckbill in Alaska is thiner than in regular plastic telemark boots. And Axl is too heavy and active bomber for those boots. In my opinion you shall look some more neutral bindings for them – Voile 3pin cable Traverse seems perfect fit.

3. what is the difference between orange and red ones?

There is a slight difference in the shade of red. I have their NNN as well as 3 pin model and there is a difference in color. I bought each pair different year – so it might also be a difference in year of manufacture. Otherwise, I believe there is no difference in the boot. These are excellent.

4. I wear an 8-81/2 in us size. what size should i order? Charts on the internet differ widely….

These seem to go large. You might consider going as small as size 39. I normally wear 8 to 8 1/2 in street shoes or athletic shoes, which translate to about a 40 or 41 in Euro sizing. I ordered Alaskas at size 40 and found that was too big. I tried again with a pair at 39, and they fit much better. I find in ski boots, it’s better to go a little snug than risk too loose, which can invite blisters and lack of control on downhills. Great boots anyway!

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Pieter A. Delepper says: “This is a great boot for touring and covering distance, good out of the box comfort with excellent control for Telemark or parallel turning. I bought these to go with Fisher S-bound 98, no-wax skis, mostly for long distance light touring with occasional down-hill skiing. I have been very happy with these, way more comfortable than any of my plastic boots I use for AT skiing. Not recommended for all day lift service skiing.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Blaine says: “I was concerned about the fit of the boots, after reading multiple reviews indicating they run 1-2 sizes small. I normally take an EU45, and found an EU46 fit my fairly wide size US10 feet perfectly. I suspect the fit depends on how wide your feet are, because the toe of the boot tapers narrower than a 3-pin binding boot in order to fit the NNN-BC binding.

Ben says: “I really love these boots. They are so comfortable for backcountry XC skiing. I did have issues with the first pair, one boot was rubbing my ankle, I returned them for a new pair, which have been excellent. The elastic on the gaiter was broken on my original pair when I received them and it broke after a year on my 2nd pair. The elastic on the gaiter was broken on my original pair when I received them and it broke after a year on my 2nd pair. I used needle/thread to repair it and it’s been fine since.

– The gaiters work very nicely, they keep my pants tucked in and snow out, they are a perfect height.
– The boots are warm & keep my feet dry.
– The Vibram soles are great quality, they don’t have any wear after 2 seasons. I like that they are nice and stiff, plus the heel fits the 3 pin binding wire very nicely.
– I like that the laces are protected under the zip up barrier, everything is secure and they are a breeze to put on and take off.
– the ankle support is great, they have velcro adjustment, however I just put these on without thinking about it and they just work, no fuss.

When I wear these out on a ski day, I usually go out between 2.5 to 5 hours and my feet never bother me at all, I return in comfort.

I am looking forward to doing some overnight trips this season, I think I will just swap out damp/sweaty socks (after skiing all day) when I get to camp and continue to wear these boots around and they would be fine.

I think my final comment is that the combination of sturdy leather and the breathable liner are what makes these boots so durable/comfortable and makes me believe they will be going strong for a good long time.

I am giving these boots 5 stars because it takes a quality to bring together comfort, durability and control to an XC ski boot and this pair really works for me..
