Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Does this cabin air filter fit 2012 honda crv?

This part number is a cross reference of the 2007 Honda Accord LX for the cabin air filter. Although it was supposed to be an exact match vis-a-vis the form, fit, and function I have to cut two millimeters on both ends to make it fit. So if this same part is a cross reference of your 2012 Honda CRV, prepare to have that cutter.

2. Is the honda cabin filter 80292-sda-407 the same as honda genuine part # 80292-sda-a01?

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Vanessa C. says: “Disclaimer: I know very little about cars but I do know quite a bit about saving money. I went to get my 2008 Honda Civic airbag replaced this past month (for those of you out there who don’t know… there is a recall!) and they recommend I replace both my cabin filter and engine air filter. It was going to cost $60 and $40 for cost and labor!! It said it was “critical” red on the paper they gave me (you know they have green, yellow or red). I YouTubed how to replace these two items and it looked so simple.
I bought both items on Amazon (same brand) for less than $20!!! For a 26 year old female (completely inexperienced with cars) who spent 10 minutes on YouTube and an extra 10 minutes in installation, I saved over $80!!!

I probably would have had to wait at Honda more than the 20 minutes it took me overall and would have had to pay an extra $80. No thank you!! Just want anyone to know and who has any doubts, if I can do it, you certainly can too!

As far as the quality, I can only really base it on what I see. The durability seems to be the same as the one I had in it before. I will update if I find the need..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. On a 2017 ford transit the filter installs with the filter air flow arrow pointing up. not the direction of the actual air flow. is this a problem ?

I too noticed that the air flow arrow points in the opposite direction of the airflow. The checked the filters and they are double walled with one side having tiny holes and the other without. The tiny holes are on the side where the air flow is suppose to enter and I assume they are for the purpose of trapping the inbound air particles. When I first got the 2017 transit, I checked with Ford and I was told that they do not make a cabin filter even though the slot does exist behind the glove box. When I found these filters, I bought one and decided to try it anyway and monitored the air flow and ability to prevent dust and debris from entering the cabin.

To be honest, I believe that they work just fine and prevent debris and dust from entering into the cabin area. I could not tell you if they would work better if the air flow aligned with the arrow or not. But I am not aware of any adverse issues with the use of these filters. In fact, when I went to order them the last time, they were out of stock. So when they were back in stock, I ordered 3 extras to have since I think they work fine. Been using them since April 2019 without issue.

2. I just purchased one for my 2019 ford transit 350. are the arrows for the air flow direction indeed backwards? should i install this with arrows up?

I have a 2017 Transit 150 and use this filter. I believe that at least for my vehicle, the flow indicator was correct. This filter will only go in one way and even if the air flow is not correct, it would still be much better than no filter since this is the only filter I have found for my 2017 Transit 150.The easiest way to check the air flow is to pull the old filter (behind glove box) if one exist (mind did not have a filter). With the filter out, turn the fan on low and use your hand to determine which way the air blows. Again, the filter will only fit one way. Once you know the air flow direction and how the filter must be inserted, you should be able to determine if the air flow arrow is correct.

To be honest, I’m not sure how much impact there really is if the air flow does not match the arrow listed on the filter.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Homer says: “I have had my truck for 3 years now and I never had one of these in my vehicle because the dealer said there wasn’t one available. I just put this in my truck and it was really easy to install and what a difference it made. On the very next day I drove down a street that was torn up and my vent was opened and the fan was on high and none of the road dirt or dust made it’s way into the truck. I wish I alway’s had one of these installed I don’t know the last time
my dashboard was clean and I didn’t have to breath all that stuff..

MY CARS. I have 2 cars so I ordered 2 of these. One was for a Rav4 and the other was for a Lexus.

NUMBER OF PLEATS. The number of pleats (folds) is much less than what is shown in the picture. This is important because the higher number of pleats means that it filters more air. Of course the manufacturer prefers lesser pleats because that means less material so less cost. The number of pleats that I recieved was 13. The number of pleats shown in the picture is 19.

QUALITY. This filter contains baking soda and carbon. Other filters on Amazon do not, so this is a huge bonus, especially when this filter is so much cheaper than everything else.

AIR FLOW. The only other major problem that I can foresee is air flow. Despite the lesser pleats, this filter is pretty thick due to the carbon and baking soda. Comparing this air filter with another brand, the air flow from the air conditioning vents seems less but sufficient.

FIT. I had made a previous post which stated that one of the filters did not fit my Rav4. I found out that the error was on my car’s part. I found out that no filters fits well with this car. The shape of the car’s compartment is crooked. On the other hand, I did find small variations in the filter’s dimensions. The measurements vary by an 1/8 of an inch. That’s sort of a big deal since that means these filters are not a complete seal as air will flow through the hole of least resistance.

CONCLUSION. The number of pleats is slightly important to me but it isn’t enough to deter me to purchase a more expensive filter. I’d rather just buy filters more often since all filters get dirty pretty quick due to the outside air (depending upon where you live).

I suggest you buy this filter due to the pretty awesome price of $9. It still has charcoal in it so I bet you that it filters just as well as the OEM and other filters. And you really can’t beat the price. Just make sure you switch it out every 6 months.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Why does it say UP beside the arrow and not airflow? My 2010 Prius dealership filter had the UP arrow pointing up but the airflow is down. Which way?

Hillbilly is not entirely correct.I have a 2008 Lexus IS250 and the airflow is down, not up. An he is wrong about leaves being on top of the filter due to gravity. If there are leaves on the downstream side of the filter that means 2 things.1. Your current filter isn’t filtering and 2. When the fan comes on, you will have leaves blowing out of your vents.Unless your kids are stuffing leaves in your vents, there’s no way there will be leaves on the downstream side of the filter.Keep it simple, the dirty side is the side the air went in and the clean side is the side the air came out. That’s what filters do.

2. Where is this filter manuctured, mexico or china. Two prior answers differed.

I am looking at the box now and it is made in China. Oh well, Amazon also carries some of the factory filters, such as one for Toyota Prius, and the price is a only little more. I bought one for $20+ not long ago, and it’s good too. The factory ones are likely not made in China if that’s your primary concern.

3. it the black size face down or up instruction is different from filter arrow said up on filter but instruntion said arrow pointed down

The filter should be installed with the arrow direction on the FILTER pointing in the direction the air flows in your particular vehicle.Since this filter may fit in more than one make or model of vehicle each may direct the air flow differently. You’ll have to refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for the proper installation.

4. Charcoal side up? This time Arrow direction has changed since I have been buying these for years for a 2007 Camry. Confusing or misprinted on side of the filter.

Look in your Toyota Owner’s Manual. My 2008 Toyota Camry manual shows the filter installed with the ARROWS UP.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

chi657 says: “My wife and I have a 2016 Toyota Camry LE. I have a 2008 Jeep Compass, and man, that thing was insane to work on. I dreaded changing any part of the Camry, and admittedly, waited entirely too long to change the cabin air filter. I gotta say, I was very pleased and surprised with how easy Toyota made it to change the cabin filter! Opened the glove box, emptied our booklets, etc., popped off the cover in the very back, slid out the old filter (which was incredibly disgusting), pop the new one in, and replace the steps in reverse.
Literally took me about five minutes, tops. I’ve purchased air filters for my previous cars in the past at Walmart, but where we’re located in Chicago, it’s usually much easier to get the things we need either buy just going to the suburbs or, you guessed it, Amazon. The price to me was fair, and the product has been a noticeable increase in driving enjoyment – maybe the whole Arm & Hammer addition to the filter is a gimmick or a placebo or something, but it seems to make a difference to me. It’s been in our car for a little over a month, and the cabin still smells very good. Our next one I will also order from here, and if that one is as good as this one was, I’m fairly sure I’ll sign up for the Amazon subscription and have one delivered every few months.

PRO –
Super easy installation (2016 Toyota Camry LE, though the filter played a part as it was the correct size)
Good quality, noticeable difference in air quality inside the car
VERY good price compared to AutoZone – the same exact filter (Fram CF10285) was $12.89, whereas AutoZone is $24.99 for the same exact thing.
Smells just as good / strong over a month after installation

CON –
Honestly, it’s an air filter. It seems to make a difference and it was cheap, so I have no complaints..

Salad says: “Forget the reviews you read where people say it doesn’t kill odor all the time… it’s not meant to. It’s meant to refresh the air as it circulates in the car and prevent you from breathing dust… Anyhow this is a solid filter, the install is easy and had a little diagram in the directions of mine, but if you are new to simple maintenance on cars just youtube it.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. How do you install the filter on a 2014 Nissan Sentra?

I had a 2011 Nissan Juke so I think it would be similar. You need to drop the glove box(a bunch of screws) and the filter is behind it. When you get the box out of the way, you’ll see it. Took less then an hour and saved a ton not getting it done at the dealership. Also you can google how to install cabin filters, big help. Good luck.

2. Pull tab should be on top or bottom for Nissan Leaf (2019)? The video from FRAM says Bottom, is it correct? Thanks .

Goof Afternoon Victor! please install this cabin air filter with the arrow pointing down as shown in the picture. Please note that the video shown on the Fresh Breeze page and the filter they show the person pulling out are not for your vehicle, the video is just showing how a typical cabin filter would be removed

3. What’s the difference between this and the <$10 cabin air filters?

Nothing that I’ve found except for the price. All the after market stuff I have used worked well. Changing the cabin filter is a pain in the ass but it would be with any filter you use.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Dai Tau says: “A few reviews here said it is tricky to install on a Nissan Leaf. I just installed one in my 2013 Leaf and so let me elaborate. First, definitely check out the various youtube videos. Secondly, when working on a car, I prefer to minimize what I have to disassemble and there are some videos out there that show how you can replace the filter without the removing the glove box. But because the pleated material is builkier (making it a better filter) than the OEM version, it really makes it hard to insert the filter in a relatively tight, inaccessible
and awkward spot. Once I uninstalled the glove box, inserting the new filter was easy-peasy. If I did that in the first place, replacing the filter from start to finish would have taken about 15 minutes..

Deb says: “The notes on Amazon say this, “”Notes: A/C FRT AUTO/AUX CONT(CJ2), A/C FRT MAN/AUX CONTROL(CJ3), CARBON/PARTICULATE””. I’m not sure what they intend toi say. But rock auto says it better. Rock simply says “Blue/Red dials only”. If you have the LTZ model with push buttons/auto everything heat/AC, you likely don’t have a cabin filter. Verify before ordering. Otherwise appears to be a solid product. Just wanted to save someone from my error. If your controls look like the pic I attached, don’t order.
