Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Why is this priced at $354? the msrp is $269.

Got mine this past month (10/17) at Bed, B &B. $269, and then used their 20% off coupon and got $53. off that price for $216.+tax.

2. How do the bake and roast functions differ – and how does the slow cook function differ from using bake or roast at a low temperature?

The Element IQ™ technology featured on all Breville Smart Ovens’ makes alterations to time and temperature to achieve a variety of results based on repeated results in our own test kitchens. Bake is a gentle approach towards target temperature, while roast is a more aggressive approach. The Slow Cook function enables a longer time and automated keep warm at a specified temperature for up to 10 hours. The Bake function has a much wider, less specific range of temperatures and is limited to two hours total cooking time without an automated Keep Warm activation.

3. Can you use aluminum foil in this oven?

The BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro™ is very similar to a traditional home oven and therefore can be approached with similar expectations. Due to the quartz heating elements (two top, two bottom, with a shield though still partially exposed) and the size of the cavity, caution should be exercised when using foil to prevent direct contact with the top heating elements especially. Careful and thoughtful alignment of the foil, tightly wrapped to avoid any contact with the heating elements is certainly required and recommended.

4. Can a roasting temp probe be used?will the door then close? – I am also looking at the new Wolf toaster oven to compare the two;any info is welcomed

The BOV845BSS Smart Oven™ Pro and its predecessors which use the same Element IQ™ system that maintains a very accurate and specific temperature as indicated by the LCD once fully preheated. The only loss of temperature would occur from opening the door during the cooking process or not allowing the initial pre-heat to complete. Recommendations find a probe unnecessary, advice is simply to follow traditional roasting times and temperatures. Should it be necessary, keep in mind a reduction of temperature from opening the door and a requirement for needing some time to recalibrate to the indicated temperature selection. In terms of the door and probe, that would be within the realm of the operators judgment as too many variables exist on the market, though it is not something Breville has found necessary.

I have forced my mother onto a diet because her cardiologist wants to give her bariatric surgery before he decides if any surgical intervention is necessary on her heart. One of the biggest problems about cooking when you are single is that your oven is too big for little jobs. In my mother’s case, it also holds baking sheets, cooking pots, strainers, etc. Between lugging out all that stuff, heating the oven, the wait, it is a little inconvenient.

And obviously resorting to the microwave and convenience foods has hurt her. So I figured a small convection oven would be a good idea. It is convenient. It can handle a roast or a chicken. But it can also make a nice baked potato and roasted vegetables.

My mother refuses to read a manual. Giving her a new phone every couple of years requires my taking dangerous amounts of Xanax mixed with alcohol. Computer pop-ups notifying her of updates result in harried phone calls. Tablets, Rokus, Blu-Ray players … God help me. I wonder why I ever do it. (The obvious answer is so the neighbors cannot speak ill of me.)

But the set up on this is simple enough that even she can handle it. The first nob is for method, the second is for temperature, and the third is for time. Yes, there is a convection setting button and one for frozen foods. She even figured those out. But it is intuitive. She knows now not to have anything touching the walls of the unit. She knows that it is necessary to pull it from the wall when she wants to use it. She knows not to touch the sides unless it has cooled down.

What I am trying to say is that my mother, who was a government employee, can figure this thing out. It is great for cooking a one-pound pork tenderloin. It is great for baking a pork chop. In other words, it is great for a single cook. The window tells you what level to put the baking rack at. The bottom tray pulls out for easy cleaning. And because I read the manual, I was able to explain about not touching the elements when wiping down the inside, etc.

This is a great little device for the single cook. One of the hardest parts about making food for oneself is either portion size or that you have to make big food and be stuck with it all week if you don’t freeze it. This and a FoodSaver (which I also bought her) lets you buy a big roast and cut it down and vacuum seal it.

Couple things I have noticed:

1) People who show photos of blown-out wall outlets or burnt walls or ruined plugs didn’t read the manual. It clearly says that it should be four inches away from anything on all sides and six inches from anything above. This sucker gets hot. It is not insulated like a regular oven. Don’t put it in a hole for a microwave, even if you have heat sinks all about.

2) If the thermal fuse blows on your oven, it is actually a five-dollar part and there are ample YouTube videos on how to fix this. It is easy to get the OEM replacement. There is no reason to throw the oven away. I’d also argue those who have this problem may be leaving their oven too close to walls.

3) I don’t think convection saves a great deal of time. I cooked a one-pound pork tenderloin in there and followed the old rule about one-third less time at the same temperature. It didn’t really work. But if you let the oven cook and use the convection, it results in a nicely cooked outside. I wouldn’t say it is a sear, but it looks nicer than if one merely baked it.

4) This thing is great with frozen pizzas. It is auto-set for this and you just put it on the included pizza plate and let ‘er rip. The convection gives a nice, even cooking to it and it doesn’t come out all cracker dry and browned like in a conventional oven. Plus you don’t have to look in on it every two minutes to see if it is done. It is hard to find a sweet spot on frozen pizzas in a big oven. Probably because of uneven cooking.

I have not baked cookies or pastries in this oven so I don’t know how that goes, especially with convection. I have only cooked meats, vegetables, and potatoes. Vegetables roast so nicely. I attached a photo of some Brussels sprouts I recently did.

I think a single person or a couple will stop using their large oven if they get this. I am surprised that studio apartments don’t just provide one of these and an induction top to save space. I am looking to build a very small home and I plan on doing just that. This is a fantastic little oven, and if used properly will produce satisfying results.

Just read the manual. It is not as simple as just plugging in and making something. You do have to know how to use it..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. How is this better than the “breville® smart convection oven pro” for $269?

I have the Smart Oven Pro and just upgraded to the Smart Oven Air, and there are many improvements made to the Air over the pro.- The light now comes on and the timer pauses when you open the door- door can be left open an inch to four inches without slamming shut- Rotate remind to remind you to turn your pans half way through the cooking cycle- They’ve added a fan to cool the sensitive front display and control electronics to protect it from heat related failures- Convection fan has been redesigned for for even air flow around your food- 2 year warranty, while the Pro is warrantied for 1 year- 1 cubic foot of interior volume compared to .8 for the Pro- Fits standard quarter baking sheets and larger casserole dishes up to 16 inches wide while the Pro only fits pans no wider than 14 inches- 8 rack height positions instead of 3- Signal beep volume is now adjustable and can now be silenced if needed- Includes two racks instead of 1- They’ve added a dehydration feature- They’ve added a proofing feature for rising dough- They’ve added a super convection fan setting that boosts the fan speed for better crisping- This oven has one extra upper element making 6 elements total while the Pro has 5 elements, two lower and 3 upper- This oven has a mirrored ceiling and crumb tray providing improved heat deflection- The’ve added a customizable Phase Cook feature so you can run two cooking modes back to back- This oven has a silicone seal all around the door to help seal in the heat and moisture while the Pro has no seal- This oven toasts 9 slices of bread while the Pro does 6 slices- This oven has an Air Fry feature and includes an air frying basket while the Pro does not- This oven is louder than the Pro when the fans are runningSo not only is this oven physically larger than the Pro, it also has many new features and can replace several appliances in the Kitchen

2. 1. Does the interior have non-stick walls? 2. Any idea what the voltage is…does it require anything special?

Yes it does have non-stick walls. To clean use a soft, damp sponge with a non abrasive liquid cleaner. Pour on the sponge. Voltage is 110. Watts are 1800. They recommend operating the oven on a dedicated circuit separated from other appliances. Just a tip I bought an oven liner that u put in the bottom of a regular electric oven. Cut it done to the size that fits the tray that pulls out from the bottom of the breville. The tray that pulls out is not non-stick. Clean up is a breeze. This is my 2nd breville oven. I bought the 900 model because it is bigger and fits a 9×13 pans. Gave my son my smaller oven.I love this oven a lot. The light is great, air fry does frozen French fries to perfection. Easter I cooked a 10 lb ham. In my house it’s called “moms easy bake oven”. Just to separate between it and the regular oven.

3. what are the outside dimensions?

Dimensions: 17.2″ x 21.4″ x 12.8″ per Breville website.

4. What is the highest temperature setting for this new breville the smart oven air?

I verified with my oven thermometer that it does in fact reach 480F unlike some competitors that can be up to 25 degrees shy of the set temp. It took 25 minutes for the Smart Oven Air to reach 480F.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Rick G. says: “Breville Smart Oven Air This week I’ve been testing the new Breville Smart Oven Air. It has exceeded my expectations in every way and so far I absolutely love it. Breville Smart Oven Air

This week I’ve been testing the new Breville Smart Oven Air. It has exceeded my expectations in every way and so far I absolutely love it. Not only does this oven look great on the counter, it doesn’t take up too much space, and the versatility of this oven is amazing. And the new industrial design is timeless and will fit in with any style.

A true oven, I think people who bought the slightly smaller Smart Oven Pro like I did, found that it can actually replace their large oven for cooking a lot of items. This is really a true oven that can cook anything that your main oven can, even a 14lb turkey, but with more efficiency. The interior of this oven is huge, measuring 16 inches wide by 12 inches deep, and 7 inches high, giving you more room for tall loafs of bread or cooking roasts without grazing the top elements. There’s one extra element on top, making 6 quartz elements in total. The 8 rack positions offer a range of heights for cooking a variety of different sized foods, and will easily fit a large dutch oven.

The range of functions on this model makes it much more versatile than the Smart Oven Pro, now with 13 different modes. In addition to the 10 modes found on the Pro, the Air adds nifty features such as a proofing mode, giving you a proper way to rise dough for perfect baking results. They’ve also added a dehydration feature, letting you dehydrate a variety of foods such as fruit snacks or beef jerky, and lets you dehydrate up to four trays at a time. The new Super Convection mode boosts the fan speed enabling crisper results and faster cooking speed than ever before, and I’ve had nothing but good results so far.

Most interesting is the Air Frying mode. Not only does this eliminate the need for a separate appliance, this is a great way to cook frozen snack foods like fries and onion rings, evenly browning and crisping perfectly.

Baking in this oven is precise and yields consistent results. Cookies came out evenly browned all around. I roasted a chicken that came out amazing, using the new phase cook feature. Phase Cook allows you to set two back-to-back cooking functions, so you can for example quickly crisp and brown the outside of a roast and automatically switch to a lower, slower cooking method for the remainder of the time. This is one of my favourite features, and makes it possible to achieve incredible results with little effort. Also new, is a Rotate reminder, that alerts you half way through to turn the pan around for the best most even results. I really found that helpful, especially for times when I’m using two racks at once.

With all the baking and roasting this oven does, it’s easy to forget that it also functions as a 9 slice toaster! This oven puts heat exactly where it’s needed, providing the most even toasting I’ve seen. Bagels were browned on top while the bottoms remained soft and lightly toasted. And if you just finished toasting a bagel or making toast and the oven is still hot, the it’s smart enough to adjust the cooking time if you want to make more, so your toast is always the same colour whether you start with a cold or hot oven. A bagel took about 6 minutes with a cold oven, and when I wanted to toast another it took just over 3 minutes. This oven does take slightly longer to toast than the smart oven pro, but only about a minute longer.

Some of the negative reviews for the Smart Oven Pro were regarding the control panel failing… so they’ve added a cooling fan inside the Air’s control panel to keep the sensitive electronics safe from overheating and prolonging the life of the oven, and they’ve upped the warranty to two years instead of one. Although the fan is annoying, if it helps keep the oven working longer, I can live with it.

In our house, this oven gets used several times per day and it never let us down. But I could go on forever about this oven, so I’ll just list the things I liked and disliked the most.

Things I liked most about this oven:

-Light comes on when you open the door
-Timer pauses when door is opened
-Beeping sound level is adjustable and can be silenced completely
-Seal on door wraps all around to keep more heat in, increasing efficiency
-Oven Door stays open 1 to 4 inches without the need to prop it open
-the thick, high-quality racks
-Broiling feature works better than the Pro
-Auto-eject for the toast and air fry levels
-New magnetic rack-puller design
-New fan design moves more air
-Big, bright display is easy to read and interpret
-2 racks instead of one
-fits a 11lb roast turkey comfortably and gives amazing results
-Bakes two pies at once or two sheets of cookies, and reminds you to rotate half way
-Heats to within 10 degrees of set temperature
-Proofing feature is a huge convenience
-Phase Cook for combining two cooking cycles into one

Dislikes

-Convection Fan is incredibly loud especially in super mode
-Front panel fan is loud and comes on any time the oven is activated, even in toast mode where the fan isn’t really necessary.
-I wish oven light would stay on until I turn it off
-Takes longer to reach temperature, 20 minutes to reach 400F
-No recipe book – I wish there was a book of recipes designed for this specific oven that take advantage of the Phase Cook feature , dehydration and other features
-Rack edges rub on the glass in the 3rd or 4th rack position when opening and closing the door
-Oven Size may be a bit large for smaller tasks

Who’s it for?

I think this oven is for serious cooking, a bit overkill for a college student for example. It is really a real oven that can be used as a toaster oven. If you think you will need a second oven at times, this is a great option. Actually, this oven would make the ultimate wedding gift for newlyweds.

Recommended?

Yes! Although slightly on the pricey side, if you’re looking for a countertop oven that can replace your range and can double as a toaster, the versatility, the convenience and features of this model will exceed your expectations as it did mine. With all the performance and capability of a large range oven, you’ll absolutely love the top-of-the-line smart oven Air.

The temperature control seems good. The result of baking at a given temperature seems to be about the same as with our gas oven at the same given temperature.

The physical size is good for our limited counter space. Since the other convection air Breville toaster ovens are larger, this is an added plus.

After more than 5 years of searching for a good quality toaster oven both in stores and online, and being continually disappointed by how tinny and cheaply made most of them seemed to be even at 3 times the cost of this Toshiba, I’d spotted this one on Amazon and decided in desperation to take a chance on it due to the many good reviews it already had. I’ve not regretted that impulse for as much as a moment, and have thoroughly enjoyed using this toaster oven.

It looks great on my counter, is more sturdy than any toaster ovens I had looked at in stores for MANY years, and works great! Since I already had both a built-in Wolf convection wall oven and a built-in Wolf convection microwave oven, I hadn’t cared whether the toaster oven had a convection feature or not, but am now glad it did, because I use that feature a great deal more often than I’d ever thought I would. As with most toaster ovens, the exterior of this one does get hot, but not frightenly so. I’d purchased a black silicone 9×12″ mat from Amazon to place on the top of it to diffuse some of the heat from rising to the cabinets above, but mainly so I could place a couple of extra toaster oven pans on it when the oven was in use–when not in use, I store the clean nested pans in the toaster oven. (Amazon has some great options available for extra stainless steel toaster oven pans, and a 12x10x1″ is a bit larger than the standard pans for this size toaster oven, but fits it perfectly.) I’d read one review by someone who’d returned their oven because the display sometimes fogged a little with steam when the convection feature was used. It does do that slightly, but the display remains clear enough to see even when it does, it also clears up again as soon as the oven cools, and has not negatively affected the operation of the oven whatsoever in the 2 years that I’ve been using mine. I truly love this toaster oven!

This Toshiba actually surpasses the former great toaster oven it had taken me years to find this replacement for, since the design of it, especially the sturdy base of it, is far superior to the old one I’d had for more than 20 years. That one had been a quality toaster oven also, and had still been working like a champ, but it’s one design flaw had been that one of the legs on it had broken, and I’d grown tired of crazy gluing it back on every few months or so, yet couldn’t find any new ones in stores that had been nearly as good as my old one–until finding this Toshiba! This Toshiba actually exceeded my expectations in every way, and I have been delighted with it since the very moment of taking it out of the box, because the quality and design of it had not only surpassed the much favored old toaster oven I’d liked so well, but also the design and quality of the many, many others I had looked at in all sorts of stores over the years, too. I’d expected I’d likely have to resign myself to settling for a toaster oven somewhat inferior to the one I had enjoyed using for many years, so opening the box to discover that this Toshiba was vastly superior to any others I had seen was a nearly transcendent experience. If you’ve suffered through trying to replace any good quality small kitchen appliance in the past decade or so, you’ll certainly understand what I mean. All too often one has to end up settling for appliances that are more cheaply made, cease to work after only a few months, or don’t work at all right out of the box! I’ll be keeping the Toshiba brand in mind when making any future purchases, because I could not have been more pleased with the purchase of this toaster oven!.

  • Always even toast shade control offers consistent results slice after slice. Interior light
  • Unit Actual Dimensions: 20.87″ L x 16.93″ W x 11.42″ H
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. What are the interior dimensions? I see that it comes with a “9×13″ pan, but can a standard quarter-sheet pan fit inside of it (9.75″x13.56”)?

The exact inside dimensions are 12.5 deep 14.25 wide. A 9 x 13 with outside handles will not fit

2. Does this work as an Air Fryer as some of the more expensive brands/ models are called?

This IS an air fryer! The words air fryer just mean EXTRA HOT heat and a fan.Thats it.It’s an extra hot convection oven it requires no pre-heating. Cuisinart Chef’s is an “oven style” air fryer (bigger, holds lots of food, has shelves) versus the “bucket style” air fryer (compact size, doesn’t hold much food, you can only to cook one food item at a time).Chef’s IS an air fryer – but the words “air fryer” were not invented when they started marketing it, which is the sole reason the word “air fryer” is not included in it’s name. This is the absolute best appliance I’ve ever purchased. If you read Cooks Illustrated reviews, Wire cutter reviews, and most other reviews etc. you will find that it is fantastic. It maintains a perfectly consistent temperature. It heats up in no time. It cooks food in no time. It holds two shelves full of food – two 9×12” pans. You can prepare an entire meal of meat, vegetables, potatoes at the same time – in 20 min.It has completely changed how I prepare meals. Quick, easy, healthy, fantastic. On Shop HQ I purchasedPaula Deen’s 5-Piece Air Fryer Oven Basket with 4 baskets approx 12”x 10” for $25 and they are perfect.!I bought two more sets, but I think they’re sold out now. There are similar baskets for sale, they’re just more expensive but are still well worth it.

3. How does three year guarantee work?

If you live in California this is a really good guarantee . CA law gives you several options, all in your favor, including Cuisinart paying for shipping .

4. What are the measurements between the feet (front to back)?? /What size shelf can it fit on?

There is about 9.5 inches between the feet. The entire oven front to back is about 15 inches, so it would fit on a 16 inch shelf. Hope that helps. I love mine. It is a great little over and very easy to use. It does stick out a little in the back so you would need 2 or 3 inch clearance.

I find the unit does *not* heat up the kitchen hardly at all. Even less than my old TOB-40.

The handle stays nice and cool. I know a friend with an Oster, and she says the handle BURNS her hands, so she leaves an oven mitt draped over the handle all the time to remind her. Luckily, no such problem with this unit!

* * * Update * * *

After 2.5 months of using this oven … my review remains EXCELLENT. I remain 100% satisfied with this purchase, and recommend this device to everyone I know. It’s Just-That-Good.

* * * Update #2 * * *

After 6 months, I *still* love this oven. I originally purchased it as a temporary unit while my “big” oven was broken. Even though my big oven is repaired, I’ve only used the big oven ONE TIME in 6 months … the TOB-260N1 is so good, I use it several times per week, and the big oven once. Unless I have a crowd, no need to turn on the big oven; nor to heat up the house..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Can I fry fish in it? Tilapia

Absolutely. I make Panko breaded haddock in the air fryer and my family agrees it is the best we’ve ever had. Moist on the inside, crispy on the outside, and no grease. Better than restaurant fish fry.

2. About the dimensions: I have an 18-inch width of counter space for a new oven. I’m not sure which dimensions apply to height, width, and depth. Help!

There is a smaller one that is 15.5 wide, 12.5 deep and 11.5 high. For the one you are asking about the 16 is the width and the 15.5 is the depth. I found this info on the Cuisinart website.

3. Does this get really hot around the oven? I’m worried about my cabinets, especially since this be on the countertop with cabinets above it.

I’ve used mine for about 2 1/2 years 2 or 3 times a week. My backsplash is just 1980s style formica and I have it pushed back to the stops on the oven. I pull it out once a week to clean and have not seen any damage. I assume it can get hot just keep an eye on it until you figure it out. Also I never depend on the temp being what it’s set on, most things I fry or bake are at 225 to 300 degrees and have developed quite good skills on this thing

4. What is electric voltage input. Will it work on 220-240voltage.

120 volt input only US two blade style.

Disclaimer: I’ve always had toaster ovens as a kitchen accessory and have had to learn each one of their quirks. This one has fewer than many I’ve owned. That said, it cooks fast. Very fast. Where with my previous one you had to bump the temp about 25 degrees more than you thought needed and could walk away from it, this one cooks in much less than the time expected and you need to watch it carefully. That should change as we learn how it performs. It seems best to fade back a bit from the recommended times and temps in their manual and recipe book. This thing is powerful.

My favorite dish so far is chicken wing drumettes. I’ve always cooked my famous buffalo wings in a peanut oil deep-fryer, then dip them in sauce and dry them for a bit in the oven. Set this at 400 on air-fry, cook for 10 minutes, flip them over and cook for 10 more and they honestly look like I just pulled them out of my fryer. My wife swears they are even better. Traitor!

Garlic toast and English muffins seem to crisp up faster and retain inside moistness better than any toaster oven I’ve ever used. Frozen french fries and shrimp are a breeze. Tonight she did some fresh zucchini wedges that I was sure were going to be boring and they turned out awesome.

Long story short, we love it so far and look forward to experimenting with it for years to come. We’ve had great luck with Cuisinart appliances over the years and in the few times we had problems with them, their customer service people have bent over backwards to help us and always treated us fairly.

Love it and if it blew up tomorrow, I’d buy it again..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. interior measurements?

14.5 x 22 x 11.5 in by manufact approx 16.5″ (across front) x depth 11.5″ (front to back) x height 6.5″ by answer
where is 22-11.5=10.5 go can even get the measurement right and you trust ???

2. Would I be able to fit two slim (cookie sheet) 13×9″ pans at the same time? (assuming I get a 2nd rack)

Yes, if your can find a second rack but. you will not get an even bake. You can not successfully cook a pizza, pie, bread pan, roast, whole chicken etc. This oven does not get to 450 no matter how long you wait and does not have clearance for anything like bread or whole chicken roaster even on the bottom rack which I would not recommend for an even bake. Toast does not cook evenly either. If you are cooking small meal for 2 or reheating fine. This is not going to replace your full sized oven if you are a cook or baker.

3. Is it ptfe or pfoa free?

It looks like stainless steel inside and out – I do not see any coating on it, I would not have kept it if it had. The inside is shiny SS and the outside is brushed SS. Very nice oven — I’m a nutritionist and I like that it uses crystal rods for the heating elements – all the others in this class use aluminum. Not that I’ve seen any studies regarding this, but crystal seems a little better than heating up aluminum.

4. Is it safe to use aluminum foil for baking , e.g. to cover the baking tray?

Thank you for your question, Margarita. Aluminum foil can be used on/around the food being cooked, and on/around the bake pan. However, be aware that using aluminum foil changes the heating characteristics of the oven, and may lead to unpredictable results. Never use aluminum foil on the crumb tray, the floor, the walls, or along the entire rack. Doing so will cause overheating, and improperly manipulates heat reflection, leading to poor results.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. INSIDE DEMENISIONS

Inside usable space measures 13 1/2 ” wide, 10 ” deep (with a little more in the middle due to a pizza indention) and 5 1/2 ” high.

2. Does this comfortably fit a 9 x 13″ Pyrex casserole dish?

No.We just bought it (I’m checking it out before completely opening to decide whether we can keep it).The Pyrex is too large, but I have an aluminum 9×13 with no handles that does fit.The caveat is that there is only about 1/2″ of clearance around, so you aren’t getting the benefit of convection with a 9×13, but you can bake something the fits like a cake in it.

3. maximum temp?

450 is the maximum temp

4. what are the outside dimensions?

WHY ARE THE MEASUREMENTS DIFFERENT 19 X 10. FROM WHAT THE SITE AND BOOKLET SAY 22.8 X 15.5 IT HAS THE SAME MODEL NUMBER BUT IS SMALLER CTO6335S..IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN STATED AT THE START OR IT SHOULD COST LESS.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Does it have toast setting for toast?

No and I wouldn’t recommend it for just making toast. I had the original model of this oven and it provided 10 faithful years of hard service cooking rotisserie chickens, roasts, pizzas, reheating left overs (pizza, fried chicken, fish, fries, etc,) and all kinds of other dishes but toast is not something that use it for (serious overkill for toast). Thanksgiving we heat and toast rolls 24 at a time and bake pies in it but that’s a little different. I bought this to replace the original oven which was still working well but our daughter broke the timer and it was getting rather annoying having to plug and unplug the oven to use it. New one is working very well, seems to be made even better and it fits all the original utensils so now we have extras 🙂 . In the summer when the AC is working it’s butt off (it gets really hot here) this is my go to oven because it doesn’t heat the whole kitchen up like the big oven does. I have cooked literally everything in this that I cook in a big oven with the exception of our turkeys (because a 20+ lb bird just isn’t going to fit) and it cooks just as well if not better every time. I also have a Pressure Oven as well and I actually prefer this oven and I often opt for this oven over the microwave as well. Awesome oven but not really a “toaster” oven but I suppose you could do that on a baking rack like what I use to heat up fried chicken, fish fillets, fries just one heck of a lot of power for toasting bread

2. how many heating units does it have ?

I think they mean heating elements. Normally, for this size convection oven, there are 2 heating elements, one on top,one on the bottom, with a fan to equalize the heat.Occasionally the replace the fan with a third heating element on the rear wall if the appliance. I cannot tell you the specific set up for this make / model, but you can be pretty sure it is one of the two that I described here

3. I am getting conflicting data on decisions. Just need to know the Exact Height? (only have room for 15 1/2″

1215/16th, or 13″ if you include what’s melted onto the top. Top gets very hot. FYI the cheesy plastic knob that controls the on/off timer (bottom of three on the right) broke on mine. They won’t sell me a replacement knob. They’re suggestion was to buy another of their toaster ovens. Hard for me to look kindly on this outfit.

4. How much air gap do you need around it for safety?

I would give this toaster a good amount of room, at least a couple of inches for the external heat to clear; mine is on a free standing rack — I would not use this under cabinets because it just gives off too much heat.
