  • Max height: 6 feet 6 inches
  • Dimensions: 80 x 30 x 15 inch

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. How much does it weigh?

The product description says it weighs about 19.5 pounds.

2. Have you used it for camping in a tent? Also, is the pad removable?

pad is removeable. Yes at my old age of 68 I camped in a tent with this cot..I will say I also had a memory foam mat that i placed on top of the mattress and slept very well for 4 nights.. Did I miss my real bed? YES but this was the best cot for my back and didn’t have a backache at all.

3. Can someone please tell me the difference between the Coleman ComfortSmart Bunkhouse Deluxe Folding Cot and the Coleman ComfortSmart Folding Cot I am trying to figure out the differences besides the price and the word DELUEX.

I ordered the deluxe based on the sizing chart on Amazon. It said 69 x 25 x 15. When it arrived it was actually 79 x 30 x 15. Too big for the area so now sending it back. Dimensions are incorrect online

4. Are there any other differences between this one and the Deluxe Version Cot besides the lenght?

This pretty is pretty short. It says it is for people 5’7″ or less. I got the deluxe because I’m 5’10” – plenty long for me, but too short for my 6’6″ husband. I had to find an extra long cot for him. He was surprised they made any cots his size.

BEST CAMPING PURCHASE EVER!

You’ll love this cot. Go ahead and drop it in your cart and come back to read the rest of my review. Trust me, it’s worth it.

Assuming you’ve put this in your cart, here we go…

I am pretty picky when it comes to my sleeping conditions. My husband and I have a memory foam hybrid mattress at home, so when we decided to go on a camping trip I told him we had to find something comfortable to sleep on. I was tired of the money pit that air mattresses are- they always ALWAYS deflate and I have yet to find one that holds up for more than a handful of nights- even if it’s on a clean, flat floor in our home. I began researching cots and came across these. I am so happy I did! The pad that comes on top is really comfortable and the canvas portion of the cot has a lot of give, so it feels much more like a bed. We purchased two of these and will be using them pushed together. When two are pushed together they almost make a queen size bed. Amazon must have heard the complaints about the packaging these are shipped in because ours came in two very durable cardboard boxes. If you are tired of air mattresses and such or are needing a portable bed of sorts, THIS IS IT!

**UPDATE 8-25-2017**

These cots are STILL AMAZING! We have toted these things around many places and had many overnight guests sleep on them. They are still by far the most comfortable portable bed option. Despite currently being 38 weeks pregnant, I still find these cots to be wonderfully comfortable and have slept on them several times throughout my pregnancy. Thanks for an awesome product, Coleman!.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Is it necessary to have the xxl cot pad??? Is it uncomfortable without it???

I tried it with just a sleeping bag, and it was way too hard and uncomfortable. So now I put a 2.5 inch foam pad
underneath my sleeping bag, and it is fine. I weigh over 300 lb., so I’m probably not your typical camping cot type of guy.

2. How high off the floor is this cot when set up?

My husband is 6’3″ and just came back from a camp out. He says 19 inches and very comfortable to get in and out of. Said the other campers have cot envy

3. What is the difference between the xxl le and the xxl?

The LE has the built in pivot pin to help set the cot up. Without the pin, you will need something to give you some leverage to get the last support in place. I just purchased the XXL LE, and set up is super easy with the pivot pin.

4. Is this cot comfortable all alone, or do you need to add padding?

While it’s more comfortable with padding, it’s perfectly fine without. I’ve slept on it both ways, I’m a big guy 6’5″ 260 lbs, and it was not uncomfortable, quite the opposite. You’ll be amazed at how comfortable it is. Also, My body never went numb.

BowHunter60 says: “At 6’7” I needed something that would fit and was comfortable. This fit the bill perfectly. Very comfortable. Very sturdy. And the tent that’s available to purchase and add to it makes for a comfortable roomy sleeping place.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. It is advertised as 40″ wide, but some customers say it is less than that, 31″. I need to know how wide this cot really is please.

It’s 40 inches wide when you account for the side table attached

2. Does it just pop up, or do the legs lock into place?

The legs need to be spread out fully. They do not lock into place. Ignore the replies that mentions that, they are wtong.

3. how big is this cot when folded up? I drive a car to the mountains, not a van or truck.

It’s about 40 inches long and about 10x10inches when closed. Its not bad – it fits easily in our car with a ton of luggage. We really like it. I used it as a guest bed the other day and they really liked it to – granted it was a 13 year old boy but still I didn’t measure it so the 6×5 is entirely possible!

4. i read above that it weights 6.5 lbs, but i read in someone else’s report that it weights 21 lbs. which is it?

For “product dimensions” it says 6.5 pounds.
For “shipping weight” it says 22 pounds.
There’s something off here; I doubt if the box it comes in weighs 15.5 pounds.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

ergillmore says: “Here is another item that we purchased for my husband to attend Scout Camp. He is a new Scoutmaster and this will be his first year attending camp. As a leader he doesn’t have to sleep on the ground but can take a cot with him. Now, my husband is not a small man and wanted to be sure he had a sturdy cot that would handle his size. There are several things that he really likes about the Coleman Pack Away Cot. One is that it is 80” long and sits 17” high so he doesn’t have to sit down
so low to get on the cot and will hold up to 300lbs. Another feature he really likes are the crossed, metal legs that easily fold out and back up again and then the folded cot fits into a zippered case. He likes that the hinge at the center of the side rails is covered by a canvas flap. The last feature that he really likes is that the side table can fasten on either side of the cot. At just over 20lbs this is not a backpacking cot but will work well for camping in a spot where he can park close to the campsite..

7. Coleman Cot Trailhead II Camping Folding Table

Coleman Cot Trailhead II Camping Folding Table

  • Elevated comfort: Eliminates the discomfort of sleeping on rough or cold ground
  • Built to last: Strong cross-bar steel frame
  • Supports: Up to 300 pounds
  • Max height: 6 feet 2 inch
  • Dimensions: 73 x 35 x 17 inch
  • Portable: Folds to fit in most car trunks
  • 1-year limited warranty
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Will this be easy for a 10 year old to set up on his own at Scout camp?

Absolutely Not. You need two strong adults and a pry bar of 2 or 3 feet to pry the bar into place and just when it is about to snap into place, it goes around the peg onto the other side. You can slide the fabric down a little but to do that you have to break it down and start folding the frame up before the fabric is loose. All of these are not created equal. You can get 10 of them and 2 of them will be easy for a single 10 year old to setup and the other 8 will need one or two adults and a pry bar and one person will nearly smash, cut, or break their finger or hand when it gets pinched between two parts of the frame. This is a very dangerous product – even for those who are very mechanically included.

2. The description says it is 30″ wide. Is the frame exactly 30″ wide (not counting the end bars)?

agree that the product is miss leading saying it is 35″ wide. The sleeping area (inside of side rail to inside of other side rail) is 29.5″ i was expecting a 35″ sleeping area

3. Will the feet tear through the floor of the tent

We have a thinner carpet we use in our tent which also keeps shoes/ dog nails/ rocks from ripping the flooring. Got it at lowes like astroturf thick

4. Where are the cross bars? 2nd time I ordered the cot, and I can’t seem to find the cross bars. Are they hidden on the legs or something?

There should have been two loose straight bars in the package. When I got mine, one bar was wrapped with the cot in the bag. One was left out in the box. With the packing materials. Be careful, edges are kind of rough
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

2blessed2Bstressed says: “I was a bit skeptical after reading on the mixed reviews. I figured even if I got only one use for what I needed it for was worth it so I purchased it and within a couple days was at my doorstep. I immediately put it together and like the other reviews found the last crossbar was a bit difficult to lock into place, but seriously nothing a little muscle can’t handle. The quality of the material as well as the carrying case I found to be very durable. Instructions can be found stitched on the inside flap of the carrying
case, very handy. So worth my investment, glad I took the chance on it..

And you deserve a good night’s sleep when you’re camping so you can wake up refreshed and ready for the day’s adventures. Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. What the difference between the Limited Edition and the other Universal? Just twenty bucks cheaper?

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out and great question! The Limited Edition has a pivot arm that makes set up and take down easier. It also comes with a different style carry bag.
Feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns.

2. Can you sit on the edge without it tipping over?

Yes. As long as your pad and sleeping bag are on the cot you should have no problem sitting on the edge. That’s the way I put my socks and boots on.

3. Are there any crossbars under the fabric that would be felt while sleeping?

There is a middle “X” support, but not a crossbar. The fabric of the cot is very taut when it is new.Mine has been slept on many times and is no longer as taut as it once was.It is still very comfortable – and I doubt it will ever sag enough to feel that middle support.I put a thermarest on top and it is as comfortable as a bed.

4. Can i put two 32 inch width cots together and use the teton mammoth sleeping bag for my wife and i? I hope to put our thermarests on top of cots

Hi Ashton,Thanks for reaching out and great question. Yes, you can slide two Adventurer Camp Cot’s together. The cutouts on the rails that slide in on the head and foot portion of the cot are not evenly spaced so that you can slide two cots together. They’ll be offset on one side so it’s closer to the cot frame. That’s where you’d slide the second cot to make a double-wide. The Universal Camp Cot is 85″ x 32″ x 19″ while the Mammoth Bags are all 62″ wide, so yes that should work great, especially with pads underneath.Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

I weigh a feathery 220 lbs, but the Teton elevated me above the rocky terrain with aplomb. It takes a bit of wrestling to engage the shorter aluminum slats at each end, but once assembled, the surface is as taut as a funeral drum.

The entire apparatus is substantially built, so the folded iteration is a bit bulky and on the heavier side. But it kept my buttermilk-soft posterior off the cold, unforgiving ground, and denied any wandering reptiles or scorpions an opportunity to snuggle with me. The dark fabric does tend to showcase any camping dust and dirt, but it brushes off fairly easily..

Some say they couldn’t get the cot together because the poles that run the length of it are not far enough apart. I had that trouble too until I realized that the poles have to be tucked into the closed ends that are to the outside of the pocket openings. Then you just have to clip the non-locking side on to one pole, and press the locking side down onto the other pole with your open palm…then you can swing the foot down and lock it. Ingenious design!

As far as comfort is concerned, it’s a cot. Use an air mattress on top; it’s like that with ALL cots..

Rhiannon says: “I got two of these so my husband and I didn’t have to sleep on the ground any more when we go camping. Our dog is afraid of air mattresses so that’s not an option for us. These are amazing. Sturdy, easy to fold out and in (tricky to get the last connector in, because the whole thing has tension on it, but you just gotta push it) tall enough to put bags under and it’s AMAZING to get up in the morning, sit up, put your feet on the floor, and stand up. Tips: put a cozy blanket underneath you

Tips: put a cozy blanket underneath you otherwise you’ll wake up with your top half warm (blanket) and your bottom half (cot) cold.
you’re not gonna be able to snuggle, really, because the bars in between the two, but a yoga mat bridging the two helps with knees and ankles. Also in the yoga mat zone, if you need padding (we were fine without it) a yoga mat fits *perfectly* on these

STATS: I’m 260 my husband is 240, and our dog is 110lbs (English Black Lab) I slept in one, he slept in the other, the dog kind of bridged the gap or slept on my feet. no wobbling, all the connectors are great. I have recommended this cot to at least 3 people..
