What Real Customers Say About This Product?

serolfcire says: “my first one came damaged directly from Diamond Back – A huge gash in the bottom. The instructional video url that was in the manual was wrong- the phone number in the manual was wrong. I called Diamond Back and they laughed that I bought an old bike from Amazon. Its not an old bike – its the 2017 model – but the rude Diamondback employee made me ask for a manager. They sent me a free one and I returned the damaged one to Amazon! So what was negative became a positive. But Diamondback is too proud of their product
and they need to come back to earth a little bit.

The bike is awesome. Great quality! You feel invincible riding it. You have to get used to pressing the gear levers all the way for a proper a smooth shift. I recommend getting it and hope that you never have to call Diamondback – the phone number they print is wrong so you will have to google it to get the right number.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Are the wheels/ rims on this bike tubeless ready?

No

2. Does the seat lower all the way to the clamp

Yes but if you mount the reflector there the bracket will reduce that by 1”.

3. I’m 5’10 is this bike appropriate for me ?

The bike frame size is 17″. We would recommend going to a local bike shop to get sized, or at least stand over a couple of bikes to get an idea of what size you will need. It is a good idea to go to a local bike shop and get measured if you do not know your size already.

4. Will a 4 5 6 mm Allen Key remove contacts to install bottle holder?

Yes
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

William C. says: “I waited to write a review until I got some rides in on different trails. My rides are usually about 20 miles, on both paved trails and single tracks. Keep in mind my only comparison is the GT Outpost that I have been riding for almost 20 years. WOW, what a difference! This bike is so much smoother and rolls so much better!!! Weight is about the same for a bigger bike. The shifters have been working well, though I have to be careful when on the smaller end of the rear gear, the chain wants to skip or jump under
load and bumps. I assembled it myself, maybe taking it in for a tuneup will fix that. I did change the grips and seat, relatively inexpensive upgrades. I have to say I am very happy with this bike. I looked around quite a bit and there is not much out there with these features and this price range. Hopefully this bike will last as long as the GT did!.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. What is the hook shaped piece with the check mark or “J” stamp? Putting bike together but don’t know where it goes.

I couldn’t figure it out either. Bike works great without itwherever it is supposed to go. I thought instructions were a little weak in that regard, but things seemed to go together well and bike has been running great for over a year.

2. Could I change the tires to 29 in?

If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty (literally) on the internals of a bike then you could at least add a 29″ wheel to the front by changing out the 26″ front fork and rim for a 29″ one. This is known in the trade as building a “96er”. It also takes some getting used to riding as 96ers handle strangely at first if all you’ve ever ridden is standard 26ers. Please don’t bother wasting time asking your ultra-professional, by-the-book conformist LBS to set this up — it’s kind of an unorthodox hack so they probably won’t. Been there done that. It’s pretty much a custom DIY thing. On the upside it gets you inside the bike and you get to learn how the things all go together — good to develop your skills as you work towards doing your first complete teardown and overhaul; something I think everybody with a bike ought to know even if only as a hobby.Ahem. If nothing else you MIGHT be able to cram 27.5″ wheels on if there is enough clearance (the difference in wheel radius is only +3/4″ (centre to rim)) and you use narrow enough tyres. This is what I am currently running with my 26″-spec Polaris Ranger (Rock Shox XC26 front/stock back) and Continental somethingorother 1.75″ tyres. It works great and handles surprisingly well when the wheels are straight and aligned despite having maybe only 1/4″ left to clear the bridge, but boy, what a fathermucker when they go out of true. But then this kind of whimsical experimentation is what hacking is all about innit?YRMV.

3. Im 6’1″ . What size of frame I need ?

21 inch frame! check the sizing chart!

4. Whats the part number for the derailleur hanger?

That’s a number 31
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

DKR says: “I seldom go offroading, but I wanted a full-suspension bike to pamper my 70 year old body going up and down curbs. I also am not a fan of what seem to be the norm on lower priced bikes, those semi-caliper brakes with the cable running across the top, so I like the disc brakes this one has. It came well packaged (via FedEx), and there was no damage. It took me about an hour to do the minimal assembly required…install the handlebars, connect the front brake cable to the lever, install the front wheel and pedals, and put air in
the tires. Everything else is already assembled and working. The wheels aren’t perfectly true, but they’re only a very tiny bit out of line, and with the disc brakes it doesn’t affect the handling or stopping. Very minor issue. I bought this bike mainly so I can get a better workout than I get with my recumbent trike, but it turns out that it’s also just plain fun to ride…and it’s a lot easier on my back than my trike (which has no suspension)..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Will this bike fit a 6ft 4in man?

yes.i’m 6’2″.& seat is not all the way up

2. Is there a front and rear shock upgrade that you would recommend?

I have the Schwinn Ember (Sam’s club version, same bike) I upgraded the rear shock to an Exa 382 coil with lock out 165mm eye to eye (750lb spring) and upgraded the front fork to a Rockshox 30 tk silver with a straight steered tube (again a coil). It made a big difference, no more pogo effect and a much improved ride.

3. Are the disk brakes hydraulic disk brakes?

No, they are mechanical disk brakes

4. is this bike 7 or 8 speed

This is a 24-speed bike. Thanks, we’re working on updating this information.

The order stated 3 day shipping and it took 6 days, but more importantly FedEx delivered the box all tore up with bottom flaps wide open and the box of pedals lying on the ground outside of the main carton. Other than that the bike is very nice at this price point and would have received 5 stars from me if it wasn’t damaged, despite the slow arrival.
It went together very easily, but did need rerouting of the cables which could not be completely untangled as well as some minor tuning. I also replaced the skinny rock hard seat with a super comfortable TONBUX seat that almost matches the color perfectly (best $20 I ever spent!). It rides like a dream on the rough dirt and rocky mountain roads near my house, the full suspension and big 29″ tires really soak in the bumps, very smooth. I am very pleased with the overall performance of the bike so far, it shifts very quickly up and down and the disk brakes are strong. I am 5’9″ tall / 185 lbs. and the bike has plenty of seat adjustment left, I would say it will handle up to a 6’2″ rider, but not much shorter than 5’8″ comfortably. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone that is NOT interested in hard core wide open down hill mountain trail riding. I am sure the bike can handle any trail at controlled speeds, but sustained high speed down hill mountain trail riding needs more bike than this, i.e. hydraulic brakes & better suspension, or in other words spending at least double or triple what this bike cost. At under $400 dollars it is a great bike.
UPDATE: After several long rides on very rocky mountain roads and trails I just had to change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. This bike is that nice, and it didn’t seem fair to down grade the rating due to slow poor FedEx service.
18 MONTH FOLLOW-UP:
Loving this well made Schwinn! Have many miles of very hard riding on it now and it is holding up well. Zero issues and still functioning perfectly. There is a slight amount of seepage at the front forks but that is normal. I have just about worn out the tires but that is after a lot of miles, most of which were ridden on rough rocky roads with zero flats. Overall this bike is a winner. Well worth the current price..

11. 27.5″ Royce Union RMT Mens 21-Speed All-Terrain Mountain Bike, 22″ Aluminum

Size:27.5 inch wheels – 22 inch frame | Style:21 Speed | Color:Matte Black Quality construction makes the RMT a mountain trail bike that performs equally well for gravel paths and for street riding. Backed by our limited 10-year frame warranty (see owner’s manual for details), the lightweight hardtail frame is molded from tough 6061 heat-treated aircraft-grade aluminum and will never rust! Durable aluminum, lighter than steel, makes this bike easier to accelerate, easier to maintain momentum, and easier to handle.

We deliver this bike with the tools you need to quickly finish assembly so you can get riding! An alloy quick release binder enables easy height adjustment of the padded saddle for a proper fit. The front Zoom suspension fork delivers solid performance – it easily absorbs shock from bumpy trails and dips from uneven terrain. The slight-rise handlebar enables an upright, riding style with a more comfortable ride for the shoulders, back, and arms.

The alloy front load 4-bolt stem together with the thread less headset is stronger and more rigid to handle any riding stress. Unlike cheaper models, the RMT utilizes a complete Shimano drivetrain for optimal performance. Just twist to shift! The 21-speed Shimano Revoshift combines with the Shimano Tourney indexed rear derailleur to deliver seamless shifting between gears as you adjust to your path. The removable rear derailleur guard protects gears from accidental damage to ensure reliable operation time after time.

Larger 27.5 inch wheels maintain rolling momentum; the all-terrain tread pattern provides less rolling resistance than typical mountain bike tires. Alloy linear pull brakes with machined alloy wheel rims enable superior brake pad contact to deliver smooth, dependable stopping power. The padded, railed saddle can be adjusted for the perfect height and angle; the alloy quick release binder lets you customize for a proper fit. Kraton grips feel good to hold and pedals on the alloy 3-piece crank maintain a responsive feel no matter how long you ride.

Quality matters and Royce Union makes sure that the quality of the RMT will meet your high expectations. Passionate about the outdoors? Welcome to Royce Union mountain bikes. Since 1904.

up to 300 pounds.

2. How much weight can the bike handle? I weigh 330lbs roughly and am looking for a bike i can use to excercise in a fun way to lose weight.

Length = 53.94
Width = 9.65
Width = 30.31

4. Can you put a rear seat on this bike so my son can ride with me?

Honey, I can satisfy your request,
But the material fee is still a nominal charge,
I hope you understand.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Tara says: “Well this bike is nice an all but very entry level , I fell as if i were to go on some sort of 30 mile mountain bike race , Id need to upgrade tired to bigger tread, an brakes to disc brakes an probably clicker type shifter, an the bike might only last a few races, maybe I’m wrong thats just how i feel with this bike. Its a really smooth bike but not gear changing friendly, once in gear an you find the right spot so the chain isn’t making noise its a good moving bike , nice an
light an big tires sort of like a street/dirt tire but not a mountain bike tire. Worth the money for sure..

  • 31.8 alloy handlebar and stem, alloy 170mm crank
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Can i take this on trails with small to medium jumps and sharp turns? Does this also have decent handeling?

It handles well enough but I’d upgrade the fork to something a little better. It’s really all this bike needs.

2. Hola, el envio es puerta a puerta con impuestos en destino cubiertos ?

Yes

3. Is this bike upgradeable? How long have you had this bike for and how you like it?

I upgraded the seat to a larger cushioned Schwinn Saddle. Then after 6months/500 miles I had worn out the crank bearing and had that replaced, had the wheel bearings serviced and tightened and replaced the chain, and replaced the stock inner tubes with the 29 inch Slime tubes. It is also a good idea to check and adjust your drive spokes every 100 miles or so. A little maintenance can save you a lot of headache. Over-all I enjoy the bike very well.

4. What is the front fork travel?

I think it’s 80 mm. The fork is not great. But for the price of the bike it’s an easy upgrade.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Afraid Heights says: “I have to admit I was a bit nervous about ordering this given the multiple bad reviews but it was hard to resist an aluminum frame mountain bike with front and rear disc brakes for less than $300. Previous reviewers were quick to say that this was cheap and not worth it. I really don’t understand how they can make a general conclusions about this based on what sounded like a simple flat tire or shipping damage in some cases. Anyway, on to my experience. The box was quite beat up. Maybe the manufacturer could improve the corrugated a bit so
that the box arrives without looking like it was in a battle. The good news is everything inside was fine and there were no missing parts. The bike went together quite easily and I had no issues with anything. Paint quality was good even though they were a few little nicks here and there. I was happy to find Shimano shifters and rear derailleur. I did remove the tires to ensure that the rim strip was covering all the spoke holes as I did not want to deal with having to buy a new tube. Glad I did because the front wheel did have the rim strip a little off center. I centered it and aired up the tire easily. It took me about 20 minutes to remove the packaging and finish the assembly. It was easy but I have some experience from assembling bicycles in the past. I have not done a proper ride on dirt but a quick ride around my neighborhood tells me that I made the right choice. If you’re looking for a great value and don’t mind checking a few things you will not be disappointed..

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

2MARKO says: “Bought this to transform to an electric ebike. Works well for the price. Made slight adjustments to the brakes but brakes work well. Dual suspension does good on absorbing bumps making it smoother on gravel & trails. I had a murtisol bike before and that was a piece of junk since day 1. Had another one of these hyper shockers and also worked quite well. Will buy again.

19. Diamond Back Bicycles Overdrive

The classic 29er hardtail — that’s the best way to describe the Overdrive 29 2. We’ve taken our strong and light aluminum 29er frame and added a confidence-inspiring RockShox FS30 TK Coil Spring fork, strong Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for added control, and a 2×9 Shimano drivetrain that provides you plenty of granny gear for the ugliest of climbs. Thanks to its 29er wheels, cleaning tricky rock sections and log-overs is a whole lot less tricky.

Big wheeler cross-country fans rejoice, we’ve got the ride for you!

Diamond Back Bicycles Overdrive

  • Hand-built 6061 aluminum frame is light and strong.
  • RockShox FS30 TK Coil Spring fork is stiff, plush, and a perfect complement to our aluminum chassis
  • Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power
  • Shimano Alivio/Acera 2×9 drivetrain provides a wide gear range
  • 29” wheels roll easily over obstacles, provide great traction and a stable ride
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Can I have the bike shop-assembled?

Mostly. You’ll have to adjust the handlebars and put on the seat and petals. There are instructions on how to do this. Took about 5-10 minutes, and all the tools needed were in the box.

Alex says: “I absolutely love this bike! I waited for it for a long time, I initially bought the 27.5. Super solid bike, I am a heavier fella and it can handle me no problem. For my first diamondback, I am super impressed. It was easy to assemble to me and it came packaged very good. Make sure you get the right tire pump for this! Well worth the money.
