What Real Customers Say About This Product?

serolfcire says: “my first one came damaged directly from Diamond Back – A huge gash in the bottom. The instructional video url that was in the manual was wrong- the phone number in the manual was wrong. I called Diamond Back and they laughed that I bought an old bike from Amazon. Its not an old bike – its the 2017 model – but the rude Diamondback employee made me ask for a manager. They sent me a free one and I returned the damaged one to Amazon! So what was negative became a positive. But Diamondback is too proud of their product
and they need to come back to earth a little bit.

The bike is awesome. Great quality! You feel invincible riding it. You have to get used to pressing the gear levers all the way for a proper a smooth shift. I recommend getting it and hope that you never have to call Diamondback – the phone number they print is wrong so you will have to google it to get the right number.

No

2. Does the seat lower all the way to the clamp

Yes but if you mount the reflector there the bracket will reduce that by 1”.

3. I’m 5’10 is this bike appropriate for me ?

The bike frame size is 17″. We would recommend going to a local bike shop to get sized, or at least stand over a couple of bikes to get an idea of what size you will need. It is a good idea to go to a local bike shop and get measured if you do not know your size already.

4. Will a 4 5 6 mm Allen Key remove contacts to install bottle holder?

Yes
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

William C. says: “I waited to write a review until I got some rides in on different trails. My rides are usually about 20 miles, on both paved trails and single tracks. Keep in mind my only comparison is the GT Outpost that I have been riding for almost 20 years. WOW, what a difference! This bike is so much smoother and rolls so much better!!! Weight is about the same for a bigger bike. The shifters have been working well, though I have to be careful when on the smaller end of the rear gear, the chain wants to skip or jump under
load and bumps. I assembled it myself, maybe taking it in for a tuneup will fix that. I did change the grips and seat, relatively inexpensive upgrades. I have to say I am very happy with this bike. I looked around quite a bit and there is not much out there with these features and this price range. Hopefully this bike will last as long as the GT did!.

5. Tommaso Gran Sasso 29er Mounain Bike Hydraulic Disc Hardtail Best Looking

Tommaso Gran Sasso 29er Mounain Bike Hydraulic Disc Hardtail Best Looking MTB Matte Black 100mm Travel Suspension

  • DURABLE & RELIABLE: Alloy Frame is built to handle the stresses of the toughest mountain trails, backed up with our industry leading Lifetime Frame Warranty.
  • THIS IS AFFORDABLE PERFORMANCE, NOT ENTRY LEVEL: If you are just getting into mountain biking or returning after a long hiatus, this is the bike for you. New and returning riders don’t need “beginner bikes” they will outgrow in a year. You deserve affordable performance! The Gran Sasso delivers a high quality mix of components seen on bikes that cost $100’s more.
  • ROLL OVER ANYTHING & STOP ON A DIME: Rugged 29er wheels and grippy tires propel riders of rocks, roots, and anything else in their path. Having the clearance of a 29er wheel makes climbing easier and more effective than ever. Climbing and speed are nothing if you can’t stop, so we added ultra-powerful Shimano M315 hydraulic disc brakes, for precision breaking in all terrain and weather conditions. These brakes provide double the stopping power of mechanical disc brakes, for your safest ride.
  • YOU DESERVE A POWERFUL & COTROLLED RIDE: We equipped the Gran Sasso with the powerful gearing of a 24 speed full Shimano drivetrain that was built to climb. Power is nothing without comfort, so put a premium Suntour SF15-XCM fork with 100mm of travel. This fork easily pushes through rough terrain for a comfortable and adaptable ride. Finally, we added wide 680mm handlebar, which improves cornering and control, putting you in an optimized position to have your most powerful and controlled ride.
  • BUILT TO LAST: All too often things are made cheaply and break before their time. We believe that bikes should be reliable and built to last. This is why we use the highest quality aluminum in our bikes, and back it with our industry leading lifetime warranty. We also use only Shimano components, which are backed up with Shimano’s two year warranty and are designed function better and last longer than anything else on the market. Ride with confidence, knowing your new bike was built to last!

The bike comes with standard platform pedals in the box.

3. I’m 5″11 and 180lbs. what size should I buy?

I’m 5’11” and 155lbs. Medium is almost too big for me. Barely the 1″ minimum clearance when straddling the bike.

4. I want to know about the weight of this bike ?

The bike weighs 30.8lbs in the medium size.

I’m not a real big review writer, but I felt the need to write this review for the bigger folks out there who are trying to decide if this bike is good for them.

To start, I’m like alot of people, who hasn’t ridden a bike in years, but wants to start getting out there to get some form of exercise. I have very bad knees and walking for miles, tears up my joints, so I wanted something with less impact on my body.

I also knew that I didn’t want some box store run of the mill bike that wouldn’t last (again I’m a big guy) but also knew, I didn’t need a $3000 carbon bike, with full suspension either. So that brought me to Amazon.

I live in the middle of nowhere, and don’t have any bike shop close to try bikes and have one tuned and all that, so I had to kinda wing it. Trying to find a bike in extra large, for a guy who is 6’4″, and weighs right at 270 lbs, proved to be a bit of a headache. I got caught up in all the specs, and being right on the cusp of the weight limit of so many bikes, had me hesitant to say the least. Logic then kicked in, and I started looking at what I’m really after in a bike. The answer is, to be able to get out with minimal impact on my knees, so both me and my dogs can get exercise. I’m not jumping, downhilling, or even trail riding. I’m literally riding around town on gravel roads.

So that made me realize, alot of the cautions, and prerequisite’s didn’t really pertain to me. I would maybe worry about the weight limit, if you are going to launch this thing down mountain sides or try to jump huge jumps, or anything like that. If you are not, this bike will be perfect! It very well may do all that stuff as well, I don’t know. I just know what it will do as I’ve experienced.

If these bikes are supposed to be tuned, by a professional, they must do a pretty dang good job at the factory, because I literally assembled it, rode it and have had zero issues.

All you have to do, is install the front wheel, handlebars, seat tube, and in my case, a new seat. The original seat is not good for a big person. I got one of those plush gel seats off Amazon, and man it made a HUGE difference.

This bike rolls great! I’ve never ridden a bike that is so smooth! I got on and peddled a couple rotations and could not believe the ease at which this thing got going. I was in second gear up front and 3rd out back. The range of gears this thing has is absolutely amazing! 24 in total! Thankfully the brakes are equally as impressive, because I was a bit jerky at slow speeds and turning at first, since I’m not used to the large 29 inch tires. The larger tires really do make this bike ride over rocks and dips and bumps with ease. I’ve also never ridden a bike with a front shock before, so that was pretty impressive as well!

I know this review wasn’t a whole lot about the bike, but instead about the type of person I am, and riding style I will be using it for, to maybe help alleviate any concerns another big person may have, if they are looking at this bike. I’ve ridden about 25 miles already, in 2 days, just trying to get a feel for this bike and could not be happier! I have ZERO regrets purchasing this bike and if I ever need or want another bike, I’ll probably look at this company again..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Will this bike fit a 6ft 4in man?

yes.i’m 6’2″.& seat is not all the way up

2. Is there a front and rear shock upgrade that you would recommend?

I have the Schwinn Ember (Sam’s club version, same bike) I upgraded the rear shock to an Exa 382 coil with lock out 165mm eye to eye (750lb spring) and upgraded the front fork to a Rockshox 30 tk silver with a straight steered tube (again a coil). It made a big difference, no more pogo effect and a much improved ride.

3. Are the disk brakes hydraulic disk brakes?

No, they are mechanical disk brakes

4. is this bike 7 or 8 speed

This is a 24-speed bike. Thanks, we’re working on updating this information.

The order stated 3 day shipping and it took 6 days, but more importantly FedEx delivered the box all tore up with bottom flaps wide open and the box of pedals lying on the ground outside of the main carton. Other than that the bike is very nice at this price point and would have received 5 stars from me if it wasn’t damaged, despite the slow arrival.
It went together very easily, but did need rerouting of the cables which could not be completely untangled as well as some minor tuning. I also replaced the skinny rock hard seat with a super comfortable TONBUX seat that almost matches the color perfectly (best $20 I ever spent!). It rides like a dream on the rough dirt and rocky mountain roads near my house, the full suspension and big 29″ tires really soak in the bumps, very smooth. I am very pleased with the overall performance of the bike so far, it shifts very quickly up and down and the disk brakes are strong. I am 5’9″ tall / 185 lbs. and the bike has plenty of seat adjustment left, I would say it will handle up to a 6’2″ rider, but not much shorter than 5’8″ comfortably. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone that is NOT interested in hard core wide open down hill mountain trail riding. I am sure the bike can handle any trail at controlled speeds, but sustained high speed down hill mountain trail riding needs more bike than this, i.e. hydraulic brakes & better suspension, or in other words spending at least double or triple what this bike cost. At under $400 dollars it is a great bike.
UPDATE: After several long rides on very rocky mountain roads and trails I just had to change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. This bike is that nice, and it didn’t seem fair to down grade the rating due to slow poor FedEx service.
18 MONTH FOLLOW-UP:
Loving this well made Schwinn! Have many miles of very hard riding on it now and it is holding up well. Zero issues and still functioning perfectly. There is a slight amount of seepage at the front forks but that is normal. I have just about worn out the tires but that is after a lot of miles, most of which were ridden on rough rocky roads with zero flats. Overall this bike is a winner. Well worth the current price..

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

David Concepcion says: “I’ve been looking for a bike for a few months and after studying all of the models under $400 decided to go with this one. I am very glad that I did as it is worth every penny. First off, many of the reviews of bikes in this price range have mentioned missing or damaged parts, bikes having to be brought to a bike shop to address brake issues, derailleurs not shifting correctly, etc. I can tell you this bike came so carefully packed in a reinforced box that not one component was scratched or damaged. Assembly was easy enough following
included instructions. The front brake adjustment took me the longest because I was very anal about exactly where they brake shoes engaged the front rim, other wise no complaints, but as other reviewers have mentioned, check all fasteners to insure they are snug (I found 1 screw that was a brake handle return stop screw that was a bit loose, but that would not have been a safety issue).
Minor issues: One link on the chain was binding a bit which I had to work free with some oil and back and forth movement to free up a bit more, but did not need replacement. This caused some skipping & noise which cleared up after I worked the kink free. The brake pedals are the cheapest component on the bike, but do function. The seat appeared to be of good quality, but I replaced it with a Bikeroo Seat that I had already broken in on another bike. Tires were not Kenda tires, but tread design was very similar.
Highlights: Beautiful paint job, smooth shifting components, quality rims and brakes, fairly light weight (lighter than my steel former mountain bike), reinforced welds on bike frame makes for a sturdy bike that seems to respond better to rider input. Merax is a California based company that offers specialized signature products for home and fitness. Would absolutely buy this bike again!.

11. 27.5″ Royce Union RMT Mens 21-Speed All-Terrain Mountain Bike, 22″ Aluminum

Size:27.5 inch wheels – 22 inch frame | Style:21 Speed | Color:Matte Black Quality construction makes the RMT a mountain trail bike that performs equally well for gravel paths and for street riding. Backed by our limited 10-year frame warranty (see owner’s manual for details), the lightweight hardtail frame is molded from tough 6061 heat-treated aircraft-grade aluminum and will never rust! Durable aluminum, lighter than steel, makes this bike easier to accelerate, easier to maintain momentum, and easier to handle.

We deliver this bike with the tools you need to quickly finish assembly so you can get riding! An alloy quick release binder enables easy height adjustment of the padded saddle for a proper fit. The front Zoom suspension fork delivers solid performance – it easily absorbs shock from bumpy trails and dips from uneven terrain. The slight-rise handlebar enables an upright, riding style with a more comfortable ride for the shoulders, back, and arms.

The alloy front load 4-bolt stem together with the thread less headset is stronger and more rigid to handle any riding stress. Unlike cheaper models, the RMT utilizes a complete Shimano drivetrain for optimal performance. Just twist to shift! The 21-speed Shimano Revoshift combines with the Shimano Tourney indexed rear derailleur to deliver seamless shifting between gears as you adjust to your path. The removable rear derailleur guard protects gears from accidental damage to ensure reliable operation time after time.

Larger 27.5 inch wheels maintain rolling momentum; the all-terrain tread pattern provides less rolling resistance than typical mountain bike tires. Alloy linear pull brakes with machined alloy wheel rims enable superior brake pad contact to deliver smooth, dependable stopping power. The padded, railed saddle can be adjusted for the perfect height and angle; the alloy quick release binder lets you customize for a proper fit. Kraton grips feel good to hold and pedals on the alloy 3-piece crank maintain a responsive feel no matter how long you ride.

Quality matters and Royce Union makes sure that the quality of the RMT will meet your high expectations. Passionate about the outdoors? Welcome to Royce Union mountain bikes. Since 1904.

up to 300 pounds.

2. How much weight can the bike handle? I weigh 330lbs roughly and am looking for a bike i can use to excercise in a fun way to lose weight.

Width = 30.31

4. Can you put a rear seat on this bike so my son can ride with me?

Honey, I can satisfy your request,
But the material fee is still a nominal charge,
I hope you understand.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Tara says: “Well this bike is nice an all but very entry level , I fell as if i were to go on some sort of 30 mile mountain bike race , Id need to upgrade tired to bigger tread, an brakes to disc brakes an probably clicker type shifter, an the bike might only last a few races, maybe I’m wrong thats just how i feel with this bike. Its a really smooth bike but not gear changing friendly, once in gear an you find the right spot so the chain isn’t making noise its a good moving bike , nice an
light an big tires sort of like a street/dirt tire but not a mountain bike tire. Worth the money for sure..

  • 31.8 alloy handlebar and stem, alloy 170mm crank
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Can i take this on trails with small to medium jumps and sharp turns? Does this also have decent handeling?

It handles well enough but I’d upgrade the fork to something a little better. It’s really all this bike needs.

2. Hola, el envio es puerta a puerta con impuestos en destino cubiertos ?

Yes

3. Is this bike upgradeable? How long have you had this bike for and how you like it?

I upgraded the seat to a larger cushioned Schwinn Saddle. Then after 6months/500 miles I had worn out the crank bearing and had that replaced, had the wheel bearings serviced and tightened and replaced the chain, and replaced the stock inner tubes with the 29 inch Slime tubes. It is also a good idea to check and adjust your drive spokes every 100 miles or so. A little maintenance can save you a lot of headache. Over-all I enjoy the bike very well.

4. What is the front fork travel?

I think it’s 80 mm. The fork is not great. But for the price of the bike it’s an easy upgrade.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Afraid Heights says: “I have to admit I was a bit nervous about ordering this given the multiple bad reviews but it was hard to resist an aluminum frame mountain bike with front and rear disc brakes for less than $300. Previous reviewers were quick to say that this was cheap and not worth it. I really don’t understand how they can make a general conclusions about this based on what sounded like a simple flat tire or shipping damage in some cases. Anyway, on to my experience. The box was quite beat up. Maybe the manufacturer could improve the corrugated a bit so
that the box arrives without looking like it was in a battle. The good news is everything inside was fine and there were no missing parts. The bike went together quite easily and I had no issues with anything. Paint quality was good even though they were a few little nicks here and there. I was happy to find Shimano shifters and rear derailleur. I did remove the tires to ensure that the rim strip was covering all the spoke holes as I did not want to deal with having to buy a new tube. Glad I did because the front wheel did have the rim strip a little off center. I centered it and aired up the tire easily. It took me about 20 minutes to remove the packaging and finish the assembly. It was easy but I have some experience from assembling bicycles in the past. I have not done a proper ride on dirt but a quick ride around my neighborhood tells me that I made the right choice. If you’re looking for a great value and don’t mind checking a few things you will not be disappointed..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. I’m 5 foot 6 with a bike work for me or is it too tall

Yes, the crossbar slopes downward towards the seat which makes it useable for almost any height.
Also, the seat is easily adjustable.
*NOTE* .. Only thing that’s annoying about this bike is the shifters are twist shift located where the hand grips are and sometimes it your not careful you will accidentally change gears. Otherwise it’s a fantastic bike!

2. Is this bike sturdy enough for legit mountain biking? Like biking down the mountain in Colorado?

In my opinion, No. Buy a legit mountain bike. This is geared towards recreational trail riding, no blasting down serious Colorado mountains. I bought this for my 12 year old to ride with me on my Specialized Epic comp 29er. That’s a legit mountain bike!

3. Wjat is the mddle triangle inch space?

The middle triangle rocker link is 120mm wide. The front bottom diagonal is 53mm and the rear bottom diagonal is 63mm. Thank you.

4. does this bike have pre drilled holes for water bottle?

No, this bike doesn’t have holes for a water bottle holder. Thanks

Kim Rogers-Nicholas says: “So far so good. I bought this for my 16 yr old son He is a big guy 6 ft 250 pds and I was worried it would be too small as it said medium frame. But it fits him perfectly and not small at all. he put it together quickly and easily. Really only had to attach front wheel ,handle bars ,seat and pedals – pretty much already assembled . He was out with friends riding in the state park within 30 minutes of putting it together And he was riding it for more than four hours and said it

I recommend either changing the seat or getting a gel pad cover for it ! Only day one But so far so good seems sturdy and supports a big guy

UPDATED: so we are 6 months in and the bike has needed a few adjustments. First off I had to take it to the bike shop because the handlebars continued to slip and loosen however I don’t know what the bike shop did but they fixed it and it doesn’t come loose anymore. Second. The tires kept popping and / or loosing air changed inner tubes a few times and then changed both tires out to something sturdier with Teflon and now they do not loose any air Still all in all it’s a Good bike for the money but be prepared to re-do a few things on it if it gets heavy use.

2MARKO says: “Bought this to transform to an electric ebike. Works well for the price. Made slight adjustments to the brakes but brakes work well. Dual suspension does good on absorbing bumps making it smoother on gravel & trails. I had a murtisol bike before and that was a piece of junk since day 1. Had another one of these hyper shockers and also worked quite well. Will buy again.
