Best diamondback women’s road bike Reviews and Buying Guide

This top 10 best diamondback women’s road bike review starts by looking at the different technologies and then after lists the best products.

1. Diamondback Bicycles Arden Women’s Endurance Road Bike

The Arden 2 pairs the cutting-edge technology of our highest-end bikes with a competitive component mix. The end result? A bike that delivers amazing performance at an equally amazing price. The bike’s frame is made from custom formed and butted aluminum tubes that are not only stylish, but also the perfect balance of strength and lightweight performance. Our Enhanced Performance Geometry places you in a riding position that is still fast and “aero,” yet upright enough to be sustained comfortably on longer rides.

To take that comfort a step further, we also designed the Arden 2 with a female-friendly size range and touchpoints. We spent nearly as much time fine-tuning the Arden 2’s parts package. Tektro disc brakes add an extra measure of safety and control while an 18-speed Shimano drivetrain provides all the gears you’ll need to meet any challenge. Ready Ride bikes are shipped 95 percent assembled. Typical bike assembly is time-consuming and requires technical know-how.

Ready Ride reduces the time and skills needed for the final, four-step assembly. Highlights: Women’s-specific 7005 aluminum frame with butted and formed tubing is light and highly durable DBR Podium air-formed disc alloy fork with tapered steerer enhances handling performance Tektro Lyra disc brakes equal increased braking power and control Wide range Shimano/FSA 2×9-speed drivetrain offers great performance and value Diamondback Century folding-bead 700x28c tires

3. Mongoose Malus Adult Fat Tire Mountain Bike, 26-Inch Wheels, 7-Speed, Twist

The bike that people will notice. The tires are huge. Watch as it glides over sand, dirt and snow. See the ease has as it bounces over embankments and boings over rocks. The Mongoose Malus 26-inch fat tire bike has arrived to save you from the doldrums and put a smile on the faces of all those you pass by. Built with 4-inch tires (earning the name fat) on a supersized beach cruiser frame and there is plenty of clearance to make it rideable on virtually any terrain.

Plus, the Malus has 7-speeds with a rear derailleur and front and rear disc brakes so it still has its vein of practicality. Fat tires are all the rage and the Malus is a great bike to add to your stable, and to get out there and have a little fun on. There is nothing you can’t do on a Mongoose and almost nowhere you can’t go on the Malus.

Mongoose Malus Adult Fat Tire Mountain Bike, 26-Inch Wheels, 7-Speed, Twist Shifters, Steel Frame, Mechanical Disc Brakes, Multiple Colors

  • Steel mountain-style fat tire frame
  • Rear derailleur for smooth gear changes
  • Front and rear disc brakes for crisp stopping and precise speed control

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. What is the difference between the mongoose men’s malus fat tire bike and the mongoose men’s dolomite fat tire bike.

The malus is the newest iteration of the mongoose fat bikes. Besides better build quality on the malus, the largest difference is weight. The dolomite uses some of the heaviest fat bike tires made. The malus uses private labelled panaracer fat b nimble tires. On a fat bike , tire weight is critical in handling and acceleration.

2. Does the 18 medium mean this is a bike for a smaller, medium sized person? To what does this refer?

I’m 5″-11″ / (71″) with a 32″ inseam, and weigh 210 Lbs. The Bike fit’s me just fine. The 18″ refers to the Frame Size of the Bike. Which according to the chart provides a transition between the Medium 17″ Frame and the Large 19″ Frame Bikes. The Frame sizing as I look at the chart’s, are all based on a persons Height and Inseam. You can Click on the Bike Buying Guide, then look the Chart’s over. To see what’s suggested for your Height and Inseam. http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=5801315011You can look at this Model of the same Bike but with a 17″ Frame. It has a lot of feed back and answered questions that should help you out. http://www.amazon.com/Mongoose-Mens-Malus-Tire-Silver/dp/B00TYB8Q7A?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_7&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

3. What is the wheel dropout width,is it 170mm? Will it fit a fat bike electric conversion kit?

This bike will work with 170mm axle ‘Fat Bike’ rear hub motors. I have 2 of these, one with a Magic Pie Vector, (195mm axle) and the other with a 12t MAC geared hub motor (170mm axle). The forks will pull in a little but that is ok. Rear break caliper only needed a 5mm washer on the rear most bolt to properly realign after being pulled in for the 170mm motor axle. The frame triangle also easily fits a ‘Large Triangle Battery’ (14s9p) from EM3EV.

4. I’m a big guy, can the tires handle 350lb man? All other bikes appear flat tire when I sattle.

I’m 6’ft2in and about 360lbs.I have a Mongoose Beast, the earliest version of this bike (same frame, no gears, coaster brake), and it handles me without much difficulty. You will need to be careful with the tire pressure — I see way too many people try to put 20psi or more and pop the tire off the rim, and it was hard to trust that 8-11psi is the right range. The tires will definitely feel soft with a big guy on it, but that’s the nature of having 4in or bigger tires. You can buy tires with a harder sidewall like the Origin8 Devist-8er, but after I figured out the right pressure for the originals (about 10psi for me), I decided to run the cheapies for as long as they would go.Still going strong.Oh, also — if you’re tall as well, you can get a 40cm seat stem to replace the original 25-30cm one, made the ride experience much nicer.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Tre says: “Look I’m a very big guy! Have not been on a bike in almost 3 decades. I researched and researched what bike to get that would even come close to supporting me. There were several that were $2k-$4K. But based on reviews and price I got this bike and rode it the day I got it. It has already exceeded my expectations. I did upgrade the seat (cloud 9) and the pedals. I will more than likely upgrade the handle bars. But it took this 500lb behemoth of a guy up and down the block with ease. I will update as
the wear and year takes place but I’m excited. Tires held up great. I was shocked at just how big they are. I read a lot of complaints about the weight of the bike but I could care less right now. It seems fine for what I need it for. Let the journey begin..

5. Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike, Shimano Claris R2000, 24 Speeds,

Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike, Shimano Claris R2000, 24 Speeds, Black, White, Burnt Orange

  • YOU DON’T NEED TO SPEND MORE: Because Tommaso is a direct to the consumer brand you can now get a bike with 100% Shimano gears, super lightweight aluminum frame, and lightweight wheels for an amazing value. Tommaso gives you value like no other brand. We provide a lifetime frame warranty and great service through our U.S. based customer service team.
  • THE IMOLA IS AFFORDABLE PERFORMANCE, NOT ENTRY LEVEL: If you are just getting into cycling or returning after a long hiatus, this is your bike. New and returning cyclists don’t need “beginner bikes”, that won’t meet your needs or last. You deserve affordable performance! The Imola embodies the idea of affordable performance with a full Shimano groupset you hope is on bikes costing $100’s more. Compare the Imola’s specs with any bike, and you will see the difference between us and the competition
  • STEP UP TO THE BRAND NEW SHIMANO CLARIS R2000: The Shifters, Derailleurs, Crank, and Brakes are all new Claris. R2000 Claris STI shifters now mimic 105 and Tiagra components up the line. Cables are routed under the bar for a clean look that shifts perfectly. Only bikes with integrated shifters and brake levers will perform at optimal levels. Don’t be fooled by imitators using off-brand cranks or shifters, they aren’t optimized for Shimano gearing and can’t deliver precision shifting.
  • YOU DESERVE A COMFORTABLE RIDE: Our compact frame geometry offers a more relaxed position for all riding styles, with a shallow handlebar drop so that you can still be comfortable when riding in the lower handlebar position. We even added extra control on turns by equipping the Imola with wider 25mm, 700c road bike tires. Every part of the Imola is designed for maximum comfort and efficiency, so that you can get the most out of every ride
  • BUILT TO LAST: All too often things are made cheaply and break before their time. We believe that bikes should be reliable and built to last. This is why we use premium aluminum in our frames, and back it with our industry leading lifetime warranty. We use only Shimano components, which are backed by Shimano’s two year warranty and function better than competitors. Ride with confidence, knowing your new bike was built to last! PLEASE NOTE: PROFESSIONAL ASSEMBLY REQUIRED TO VALIDATE WARRANTIES

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

R.W. says: “For several months, I had considered either this bike or a Bianchi Via Nirone for $800. Initially, I was skeptical about purchasing a bike online. But I read all the positive reviews and purchased the small size Tommaso Imola. It came within four days of ordering and I was surprised how light the box was. I then brought it to my LBS for assembly (so I can’t attest to the ease of attaching the wheel and bars). I immediately swapped out the platform pedals for cages without ever using them and only as a matter of personal preference. The small size

The small size frame is a perfect fit (I’m 5’6).

Overall, the black version is very nice and eye catching. The bike mechanic said the parts aren’t top-of-the-line but they are very decent for an entry level road bike. The seat is uncomfortable but not unbearably so. Other riders may actually find it perfectly fine but I opted to purchase a split seat for style and additional comfort. What is most noticeable is the speed of this bike. I can absolutely keep up with higher end bikes, if need be.

If you’re in the market for road bike, do not hesitate to purchase the Tommaso Imola. Just be sure to follow the sizing chart (which is very accurate). You will not regret your decision!.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Steve, O says: “Had this bike for a week now, and already put in over 500 miles, bike is solid for 500 bucks. Not gonna find a $500 road bike that’s less then 25lbs. And this thing is 23, a few part swaps like a carbon fork, and carbon seat post, and you got a 16lbs bike with solid gears. Uci regulation is 15.5lbs if that tells you anything. I’ve got a giant trinity pro 3, and the right rider on this bike would give me a run for my money. Frame hardly flexes at all. Which is good if you want to get
into sprinting. This bike is also pretty damn fast. I was not expecting alot from this bike, but it blew me away. The bike comes mostly put together. It well take you longer to take all protective foam and zip ties off then it well to put it together. And make sure your home, cause you well have to sign off on it. Just a heads up there. I’d put this bike up against a $1200 bike any day. You well not be disapointed..

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Amazon Customer says: “I’m very pleased with this bike. I’ve never ordered a bike online before. I had it sent to a local bike shop for set-up. The bike looks fantastic and rides great. The handlebars are very comfortable. The product photo doesn’t have pedals, but mine had pedals. But I had bought SPD lipless pedals for it, so I didn’t need the included pedals. I’m not sure I really needed triple chain rings up front. I probably could have done fine with just double chain rings. Regardless, it’s still a great bike.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. I’m 5’11” Which size should I choose?

When determining frame size, we recommend that customers have an inseam length at least 1 or 2 inches above the frame size they are looking at to be sure that when you dismount, you are not caught up in the frame. If you are not sure which bike frame to choose, visit a local bike shop to have your inseam measured and stand over a couple of bikes to see what size fits your body best.

2. Is this bike fine with a rear rack?

This bike does NOT come with holes to attach a rear rack. It lacks the holes just below the seat post required for most racks. I’m having to figure something out with P clamps or other hardware.

3. Does it come with the tools?

Hi Kaylin, Thanks for your inquiry. The bike does not come with tools. The bike comes factory direct and will require assembly. We recommend taking the bike to a local shop for proper assembly and a safety check to ensure all parts are secure and working correctly. I hope this resolves your question. If I can be of further assistance please let me know!Best regards,ViVi

4. Is this a good starter bike for someone who is just getting into cycling?

I think it’s an awesome bike Obviously it’s not meant for competitions, but it’s light, has a great profile, and good, smooth compobents And it looks good!! Totally worth a lot more 200 dollars
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Rey de Reyes says: “For the price, this is THE BIKE! I’ve been riding and working on bikes since I was 16, when I was 18 I used to ride 80 miles in one day with no problems. It has been 25 years since my last bike! I’m 66 and decided to take up biking again but did not want to invest much. The bike arrived almost assembled, all I had to do was to install the handle bars the pedals the shifters and the wheels. No problems whatsoever, had it done in 2 hrs. Surprisingly the derailleurs needed minor adjustment to get it where
they make NO noise at any gear. Now they work exactly when you shift. The brakes also needed light adjustment . The wheel were completely balanced and no wobbles and none of the spokes needed any adjustment. The bike was a hefty 29.9 Lbs. I replaced the dreaded seat with a lovely Selles SMP TRK, also the pedals with pedals with lighter clip pedals and did not install some of the reflectors and useless items and got rid of some of the spacers for the handle bar vertical height, I got the bike down to 24.2 Lbs! Sweet!! Contrary to what I’ve read, the brakes work great, after minute adjustment they stop in a dime! After getting the new saddle I did my own; bike fitting; and it has been a dream to ride this bike. After having this bike for 6 weeks and putting 230 miles on it the only problem I had was realizing that I can no longer ride as long or as fast I did before. Other wise if you are budget conscious and a bit mechanically inclined you will have NO problems!

Update – 12/5/19 After 18 months with this bike the only problem I have is making time to ride it as much as I wish. (planing to shorten the handle bars and replacing the wheels to make it even lighter).

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. How is this bike for riding in somewhat hilly neighborhoods?

Good. I actually live in a hilly neighborhood. Works fantastic!

2. How is this bike unfit for a woman? Is the seat fixed? I’m 6 feet tall.

This bike would be great for anyone. The seat is not fixed– it’s adjustable like any normal bicycle seat (saddle). The bike is on the larger side, but at six feet you are the perfect height for this bike. The idea of men’s and women’s frames is considered antiquated these days. This bike has a “men’s bike” frame, but this frame configuration is more accurately called a diamond frame. This is the strongest shape for a bicycle frame, but the high top tube makes it a little harder to mount. To address this, bikes can be made with a lower top tube. These types of frames were called “women’s” bikes in the past, apparently because women would appreciate not having to hike a leg all the way over a high top tube. Nowadays, though, these types of frames are called “step-through” frames. Different types of frames are not really gender-specific, and classifying bikes by gender is not useful. Many men now appreciate the convenience of a step-through frame, while anyone using a bike for more functional riding like racing, touring, or commuting will generally opt for the stronger, better-handling diamond frame (previously called a men’s frame) regardless of gender.

3. what is the frame made of….aluminum or steel? How much does the assembled bike weigh?

Hi there,

Thank you for your inquiry. The Ride in the Park has an aluminum frame. This bike weighs 32lbs. fully assembled. Hope this helps. If you have other questions or concerns, please do let us know.

4. Hi, I am 5’2” and am interested in this bike, but is it too tall for me? Would my feet touch the ground with the seat at the lowest position?

The recommended height for the bike is between 5’3″ – 6’2″ (sit lowest position)
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Jeff says: “Bought this bike several weeks ago and I really like it overall. I had a bit of trouble getting the bike out of the package with worrying about bending the spokes due to the tight packing. A bit of advice – cut *all the zip ties before you try to remove the bike and make sure the box is completely cut away first. The assembly is probably not too challenging if you read the directions. I should have tried that. As it was I fiddled around and finally got things right. There are some assembly videos out there that support will
point you to but not specific to this bike so they help some but are not great.

The bike itself is very nice and smooth. The breaks are ok – very traditional caliper breaks. The only thing I have had a bit of trouble with is getting the fender over the chain adjusted properly so it doesn’t make a noise when I am climbing hills. Not a huge deal.

The shifter is very smooth and the bike is very light. Overall I’m quite happy with it, though I may upgrade the brakes someday..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. I’m 5’2″ would this bike fit me?

Whether this bike would fit /work for you or not is somewhat of a matter of opinion and personal choice. The S4023D Ladies Wayfarer (Mint) hybrid bike has 700c wheels. They do not have a max weight limit, however, they field test those bicycles for up to 250 pounds. For the casual bike riders, most individuals use the size (diameter) of the wheels: 20″, 24″, 26″etc to make the selection of the bike they wish to purchase. Bikes measured this way have frames designed relative to the tire size, so the larger the tire, the larger the frame. Some bike manufacturers may use a simple overall bike measurement such as x-small, small, medium, large, x-large; the bike size is usually on a sticker somewhere on the frame on other brands. (Only the custom bikes from this manufacturer are sized xs, small, med, large or xl , and these are not custom bikes)The manufacturer may label the bikes Boy’s, Men’s, Girl’s, Women/Ladies however, they are not only meant for younger or older individuals. The rider will need to go by their height/inseam size. Keep in mind that for the 700c series road and hybrid bikes, the rim is larger in diameter so it will bring this frame higher up. These type of bikes (700c wheeled and hybrid) may be better suited for an individual 5′ 7″ and taller. Someone of a small stature may have a difficult time riding the bike comfortably. Each user may have a different personal preference though. Riding a bicycle that is not correctly sized to the rider may result in the rider’s feet not being able to touch the ground and balance the bicycle, properly reach the handlebar for steering or braking, and loss of control when pedaling. This sizing below is just a general guideline for some Schwinn and Mongoose bikes. It is always best to be professionally measured to find the best fit/size if unsure.Bike Wheel Size – Your Approx. 2. What does it mean by hybrid

Hybrid bicycles blend characteristics from more specialized road bikes, touring bikes and mountain bikes. The resulting “hybrid” is a general-purpose bike that can tolerate a wide range of riding conditions and applications. Hope this is helpful

Let me start by saying that this the ninth bicycle in my current stable and the least expensive by far; I have owned dozens of bikes over the years. Two of my current bikes cost over $3k. I have been a bike geek my entire life and worked as a professional bike mechanic in younger years. I feel as though I have a good perspective from which to judge bicycle quality. I was attracted to this bike’s apparent value and traditional styling, and I was not disappointed.
The bike is a steel frame, seven speed derailleur bicycle with an upright riding position. It has no-name components, except the Shimano derailleur and freewheel. Cost-saving parts include an Ashtabula (one piece cast steel) crank and chainring, a steel seatpost and seat clamp, and steel handlebars. The generic quill stem, rims, hubs, linear-pull brakes, and brake levers are aluminum alloy. The Shimano derailleur appears to be stamped steel, though I haven’t confirmed for sure. The included rack is also chromed steel. The sturdy fenders appear to be brushed aluminum with steel brackets. Even with these heavy steel components, the bike does not feel particularly heavy. The steel frame is cleanly welded, with standard diameter tubing on all except a slightly oversized downtube. It has a nice looking paint job and even has some subtle pinstriping and lettering on the top of the top tube. The front wheel has a quick release, while the rear hub is bolt-on.
Although they call this a hybrid bicycle, to me it seems to be a classic English touring bike, right down to the coil spring seat and swept-back handlebars. The seven speed gearing covers a moderate range, adequate for flat to moderately hilly terrain. Don’t expect mountain bike gearing. The freewheel is 14-28 teeth, not a super-wide range but adequate for casual cycling on paved roads or firmly packed trails. I didn’t count the chainring teeth. The only nod to hybrid elements is a slightly sloping top tube which belies the frame’s more modern origins. Otherwise the layout and ride is very much like English touring bikes of the 1960’s and 1970’s (think black Raleigh three speed, but with some alloy updates).
The bike was easily assembled, but there were a few adjustments needed that might befuddle or elude someone without experience. The bottom bracket bearings were way too tight, the headset was slightly loose, the front wheel need some minor truing, and the linear-pull brakes needed some typical adjustments – centering, adjusting brake pad alignment, cable tension. In contrast, the gearing and hubs on my unit needed no adjustments out of the box. If you do not have experience assembling bicycles, I recommend paying a professional to assemble the bike for it to reach its full potential. The brakes feel mushy compared to modern high quality hydraulic disc brakes, but once properly adjusted they had no difficulty locking up the rear wheel or quickly stopping the bike. In this price range I think the brakes are above average. The grip-shift, seven-speed gearing was crisp and quiet.
Once assembled, the bike has a solid, smooth, quiet ride, if somewhat “vintage” in its feel. The riding position is very upright with just some very slight forward lean. There is not a lot of space between the seat and the backswept handlebars, which is fine if you are not expecting a racing position. The bike seems to encourage taking one’s time and looking around to enjoy the ride. It feels efficient, and secure though not what I would call “nimble.” I think this would make a great bike for a college campus, paved trails, and urban commuting for short to moderate distances. That said, I have seen people ride all kinds of bikes on all kinds of surfaces and terrain.
I am 6′ 0″ tall and weigh 195 pounds. The bike was very comfortable for me, and I have the bike in about the middle of its height adjustment range. I estimate the bike would be suitable for people around 5’9″ to 6′ 2″ with adjustments to the stem and seat height. Stored with reasonable protection from the weather, and basic regular maintenance (adjustment, air in the tires, regular lubing the chain and pivot points), this bike should last many, many years..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Will this bike fit a 6ft 4in man?

yes.i’m 6’2″.& seat is not all the way up

2. Is there a front and rear shock upgrade that you would recommend?

I have the Schwinn Ember (Sam’s club version, same bike) I upgraded the rear shock to an Exa 382 coil with lock out 165mm eye to eye (750lb spring) and upgraded the front fork to a Rockshox 30 tk silver with a straight steered tube (again a coil). It made a big difference, no more pogo effect and a much improved ride.

3. Are the disk brakes hydraulic disk brakes?

No, they are mechanical disk brakes

4. is this bike 7 or 8 speed

This is a 24-speed bike. Thanks, we’re working on updating this information.

It went together very easily, but did need rerouting of the cables which could not be completely untangled as well as some minor tuning. I also replaced the skinny rock hard seat with a super comfortable TONBUX seat that almost matches the color perfectly (best $20 I ever spent!). It rides like a dream on the rough dirt and rocky mountain roads near my house, the full suspension and big 29″ tires really soak in the bumps, very smooth. I am very pleased with the overall performance of the bike so far, it shifts very quickly up and down and the disk brakes are strong. I am 5’9″ tall / 185 lbs. and the bike has plenty of seat adjustment left, I would say it will handle up to a 6’2″ rider, but not much shorter than 5’8″ comfortably. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone that is NOT interested in hard core wide open down hill mountain trail riding. I am sure the bike can handle any trail at controlled speeds, but sustained high speed down hill mountain trail riding needs more bike than this, i.e. hydraulic brakes & better suspension, or in other words spending at least double or triple what this bike cost. At under $400 dollars it is a great bike.
UPDATE: After several long rides on very rocky mountain roads and trails I just had to change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. This bike is that nice, and it didn’t seem fair to down grade the rating due to slow poor FedEx service.
18 MONTH FOLLOW-UP:
Loving this well made Schwinn! Have many miles of very hard riding on it now and it is holding up well. Zero issues and still functioning perfectly. There is a slight amount of seepage at the front forks but that is normal. I have just about worn out the tires but that is after a lot of miles, most of which were ridden on rough rocky roads with zero flats. Overall this bike is a winner. Well worth the current price..

I added a kickstand that clamps on and had a tuneup recently to eliminate an obvious front wheel wobble. I am very happy with the bike and love the feel it has including the handle bars and the shifters.

I pair the bike with the Strava app and my Apple Watch to track my workouts..
