Best dlp 3d glasses Reviews and Buying Guide – Top 10

1. XPAND X103EDUX3-R1 DLP Link 3D Active Glasses,Black

XPAND 3D DLP Link Active Glasses. Work with all 3D Ready DLP projectors, and 3D Ready DLP TVs. No IR Emitter (external or built in) required. Supports 144 Hz.

XPAND X103EDUX3-R1 DLP Link 3D Active Glasses,Black

  • High grade
  • Cinema Quality
  • Largest lenses to block outside noise (light)
  • Easily replaceable standard CR2032 battery
  • includes 3 different nose pieces for all face types
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Compatibility with Projector Philips Screeneo 2.0?

I looked at your Philips manual online and your projector is a DLP type. The XPAND 3D glasses was designed for DLP projectors which send out a signal known as DLP-Link. Be sure your 3D menu is set to “3D” operation and not “2D”.The light sensor on the front of the XPAND glasses detects a very short light pulse (DLP-Link) for each movie frame to synchronize the left and right eye to the 3D picture.

2. Will these classes work for my Mitsubishi 740 series TV

Yes as long as you specific model is “DLP Link” ready. Google says models in the 740 series are DLP link ready so you’re probably good to go.

3. Where can I buy replacement batteries?

Amazon, Walmart, your local grocery/drug store, auto parts store

4. I can see my projector is playing the different 3D modes and it looks different with the glasses in each 3D mode ,but it seems a bit scrambled .i can’

You didn’t indicate if your projector is “3D Ready”.If your projector was designed for 3D, all 3D modes will get converted to two images that are overlaid with a slight offset left or right for the your eyes to observe through the glasses. The projector must be set for “DLP-Link” output in the 3D menu. DLP-Link provides a very short flash of light at 144 Hz (or 120 Hz) movie frame rate which helps the glasses to synchronize with the projector. If the picture viewed through the glasses drifts through colors, then DLP-Link is not ON or your room ambience light is too bright versus screen brightness. Additional movie conversion 3D check is to turn-ON movie subtitles. If 3D is not working, the subtitles will develop colors on the left & right side of each letter in the subtitle text.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Daniel B. Lyle says: “I’ve searched extensively to find a pair of active 3D glasses to do the following: 1) have the widest field of vision possible to encompass a 120 inch screen from six feet, 2) be comfortable on my nose while allowing exquisite adjustment as to position and tilt (to accommodate whatever slant in want in a reclining seat), 3) be sturdy with a solid black outline around my viewing area, 4) sits easily over my regular glasses, and 5) be the least trouble recharging between viewing sessions. This product fulfills all my objectives. I’ve searched commercial products for several years, purchasing more
than a dozen different models, and this is the best of them all. The square wide lenses give the widest field of view available, the springy inward slanted legs sit securely anywhere on my head I wish (and easily are bent outward if too tight to make it comfortable), are elegantly and solidly constructed, are large enough to sit nicely in front of my regular glasses on my nose (and have different nose pieces to accommodate larger or smaller noses) and have a battery to last a number of viewings with no recharging necessary. I had to change my paradigm to finally purchase these as I thought having to buy batteries was “old” tech. But it turns out to be far more convenient to purchase several cheap batteries for the occasional changeover than having to plug the glasses into a USB and monitor them between each viewing (a tip: the lid to the battery compartment was tight and not sliding open until I discovered there’s a slight inset at its top where the tip of a slender knife can nudge it slightly downward from whence it’s easy to slide fully open with finger pressure). Absent full-face goggles, these are the best active 3D glasses I’ve found. Such a relief to finally view my giant screen as if I weren’t wearing any 3D glasses at all. Highly recommended!.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Is there anything additional needed to use these with optoma hd141x? are they compatible?

Nothing additional. They work great with mine. No annoying settings to tinker with like on the RF ones. Just make sure you set your 3d output to DLP sync. Enjoy!

2. dose it works on Optoma HD26??

It should be just fine the HD26 supports 120-144hz 3d glasses (per their spec)From Optoma in regards to the HD26:Supports all HDMI 1.4a mandatory 3D formats (Frame pack, side-by-side, top-bottom) and up converts frame rate from 60Hz to 120Hz or 24Hz to 144Hz (i.e 60 or 72 frames per eye). 3D glasses are needed and are sold separately. Refer to user manual for details.

3. How is the lens height on these? I wear prescription glasses and want some “taller” 3D glasses to fit over my prescription lenses.

Paul, I wear these over my prescription glasses and they fit very well. My glasses aren’t very large and round as some may be. They are more rectangular. So far I am enjoying these 3D glasses and they are very comfortable over my prescription. I hope that helps.

4. do these glasses come with a charger?

It comes with the cable to conect into some usb charger.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Kevin Lewis says: “I’ve purchased these and the Optoma branded RF glasses. I prefer these ones for the reasons below 1. They don’t need an RF transmitter. 2. They’re much cheaper. 3. My RF glasses require a charge after a handful of hours, (Not sure if that’s normal or not) and these ones have been used for about 10 hours so far without needing a recharge. 5. Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Does anyone know the difference between active and nonactive 3D? Thanks!

Active glasses use LCD “shutters” to create the 3D effect.Essentially each eye alternates “opening” and “closing”.This syncs with your TV or projector allowing the right image through the right eye and the left image through the left eye (the alternating LCD shutters happens at a speed of between 96 and 144 times per second and is imperceptible. It will appear as you are simply looking through tinted glasses.)Passive TV uses polarized filtering. There are no LCD mechanisms, no batteries and no charging.Polarized glasses are the type used at movie theaters. They can also be used for passive polarized TVs.There are a few disadvantages (the resolution usually suffers slightly since each layer is only half resolution) but the glasses do not need to be turned on which makes it a bit simpler.Hope this helps!

2. Can I wearing this 3D glasses on optical glass ?

It would be like wearing two sets of glasses, but I’m sure you could, as long as your glasses are not polarized. My kid does that with these.
You could also likely alter them to clip them onto existing glasses also, but that would be a bit of work and a small bit heavy.

3. Will these work with the Optoma HD141X without additional emitter purchase

Will these work with the Optoma HD142X 1080p 3000 Lumens 3D DLP Home Theater Projector or do I need to purchase the emitter

4. Will these work with an optoma hd 142x projector? i do not see this listed in the “product description” under compatible projectors.

I don’t know. Sorry. I returned them

Have to make sure all the 3D options are on for both the player and the projector. At first it said it wasn’t recognized, but I checked my settings. Either I had disabled 3D on the BD player or it is off by default. Once I turned them on, it worked. I set the screen size to 120″ in the BD player settings. It was pretty rad seeing the BD menu in 3D. I had to set the edge masking on the projector cuz it was outside the edges of my screen, but it was fine after that.

I watched the first 10 minutes or so, and it is really quite good, as far as these things go. At least as good, if not better, than the theater.

Some initial thoughts:
– They came somewhat charged–if you press the button, it shows green. I charged them all anyways. Took about a couple hours; the book says 2.5hrs.
– It is a little annoying that they have to be charged. I am not blaming these particular glasses as I assume it is the nature of the technology, but when you have 8 pairs, it is interesting finding enough USB ports to charge. I had them all over the house at different computers and wall chargers. 🙂 They say it should last 35hrs of watch time, so at least we shouldn’t have to do it often.
– They don’t cover the whole field of vision but have enough to comfortably watch. Actually, it is kind of nice that I can look down and see normally to use, e.g., the remote or walk around without tripping. 🙂
– The nose guards are not super comfy, but they are pretty lightweight, so it’s okay.
– They sit comfortably in front of my corrective lens glasses, and as far as I can tell, the 3D is effective.
– It is nice that they come with wipes and a soft case. I will keep them in the boxes they come in so we can stack them and to keep them undamaged when not in use.

As far as I found, these are the best value on the market–a good balance of low cost with effective technology.

I’ll update here if we find any problems as we use them more..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Does it work with view sonic pjd7820hd projector

I have a view sonic project (PJD5155L SVGA DLP Projector) and they work fine. I have noticed that in movies that have more action they flicker a little to refresh with the movie. I figured this is just something that lower quality glasses do.

2. Will these work with viewsonic pjd 5255 projector? thanks

Sorry I don’t have viewsonic.I have Epson 2045. Prjector. They don’t work on mine.I stuck 4 pairs of this kind now.

3. Can I use these glasses with a Hitachi Cp dx301?

They don’t specify Hitachi but they do say all 3D link projectors, they do work well with the optoma projector sometimes will flicker and might have to turn brightness down a little bit, but the work well especially for the price

4. Does it work with optoma hd141x???? Do i need some kind of adaptor????

I own an optoma hd141x and these glasses work flawlessly with it! No need for any adapter. Once you put a 3d bluray into your player, the projector will automatically switch to 3d mode. Just turn the glasses on and you’re good to go!
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Gilmar Mejia says: “These 3D DLP Link glasses are superb!!! I had a pair of rechargeable ones but they did not hold the charge not even for one hour. I returned those and got the Emgreat G15. These use a regular CR2032 button battery, so now I just can change batteries when depleted without worrying about being out of charge in the middle of a 3D film, they even come with a spare battery!!! The image quality in 3D is simply spectacular, I do not even have to use the 3D sync invert setting that I had to use with the faulty rechargeable ones.
Also, no sync problems whatsoever with my Optoma HD26 display. Simply push the power button on and voila!!! Some reviewers complain about the legs breaking, well, the instruction leaflet clearly shows how to properly handle the glasses,so like everything else, these glasses will last a long time if you simply follow the instructions.Great product. If your tv is 3D ready and It transmits a 3d signal, then it should work. I’m not for sure though. You could always order them, and if they don’t work send them back, or just google 3d glasses compatible with panasonic p50gt30. I did and found quite a few that work with that tv.

4. Does these work with benq w1110

IDK. Check the manual for 3D. They work great with my Benq DLP projector.

The way they work does diminish the light coming in because from what I understand the glasses blink on and off rapidly in sync with the projector. It happens with all 3d glasses. These appear to produce a tanner image whereas the others seemed darker and a bit greyer. All-in-all, I prefer these because the image seems brighter to me. I’m still leaving the 3dheaven’s a 5* review too. Here’s why: the images are clear on both products, they all stay charged for a long, long time, and both definitely create that 3d ‘pop’. Plus, no two people like the same sunglasses.

I feel you should have a few different pairs kicking around to figure out what you like best. I don’t think there is any benefit to having all the same brand or style. Try these, you’ll like em!.

We have a home theater which has a 20-foot “throw” and a 110″ (16:9) screen.

We recently purchased a new Epson Home Cinema 5050UBe 4K PRO-UHD 3LCD Projector which also features 3D playback in addition to 4K playback (you should see 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY [1968] IN 4k).

As my wife and I have always enjoyed watching 3D movies (over the years we have attended several 3D theatrical showings), we needed to buy some 3D glasses as the projector did not come with any.

We have tried several types available here on Amazon. The first pair we got < Elikliv 3D Glasses Bluetooth 3D Rechargeable Active Shutter Glasses 3D Eyewear Clip on Glasses Compatible with Epson Sony LCD Projector/Sony Panasonic > were really uncomfortable though they worked well.

The next ones < XPAND X105-RF-X1 Rechargeable 3D RF/Bluetooth Glasses,Black > were comfortable but they were a real “pain” to use as, due to the poor design of the on/off switch, they were difficult to turn on and off and, even worse, they would lose the 3D signal from time to time (often when switching from the 3D main feature to 3D extras).

The next ones we bought < [Sintron] 2X 3D RF Glasses for Sony Panasonic Samsung 3D TV, Compatible with TDG-BT500A TDG-BT400A SSG-5100GB TY-ER3D4MU (2 Pairs) > SHOULD have been the best: they are fairly comfortable (at least for me), they function well in all regards, and they are the only ones that I can find here on Amazon that use disposable batteries. Why would we want that? Well, rechargeable devices have internal batteries which will eventually expire and there is generally no way to replace those batteries. Glasses that use replaceable disposable batteries will work well into the future.

Unfortunately, though they are quite comfortable for me, my wife has a problem with them. She says they are unwearable for her as they badly hurt the bridge of her nose. After we watched a movie using them, I could easily see the deep mark these glasses left on her nose. (Though they are uncomfortable for her, they are fine with me and I just ordered a second set. I do not know for how long into the future active shutter 3D glasses will be made and I think that it’s better to have some extras, ones which will last well into the future.)

Except for the fact that these < Elikliv Active Shutter 3D Glasses Compatible with Sony Panasonic Samsung 3D TVs, Rechargeable Bluetooth 3D Glasses Compatible with Epson 3D Projector, TDG-BT500A TDG-BT400A TY-ER3D5MA (Pack 4) > under review here are of the rechargeable type (as noted I prefer those with disposable batteries), they are near perfect.

They are VERY comfortable – by far the most comfortable pair we own – and the price is very reasonable (about $32.50 per pair).

Even that would be no good if they didn’t function physically well. But they DO! They work as well as any of the other pairs we own (and much better than that second pair). The on/off switch is very well designed and these glasses do not turn off themselves if a 3D image is being displayed (even on when it’s on “pause” or when switching to extras).

We find the image to be somewhat brighter than that obtained with any of our others. Now there is a trade-off for that brightness: sometimes (not often) you will see cross-talk (“ghosting”) in the 3D image which, with other, dimmer, glasses you will not see. [PLEASE SEE UPDATE BELOW]

Last night we watched the movie THE WALK (2015) which is frightening enough in 2D (“flat”) but positively nerve-shattering in 3D. (Take my word for it: it’s much “worse” than any horror film I have ever seen, especially if you have problems with heights.)

I could see a bit of “ghosting” in a few of the subtitles and a bit more elsewhere, especially in dark scenes. Now please understand that this “ghosting” was very minor and you’d have to be “picky” (as I am) to even notice it. But it was definitely there. Some day (not too soon; my nerves can’t stand it) I’ll watch this film again with a pair of my other glasses to see if the “ghosting” is still present.

I’ll also be curious to watch DIAL M FOR MURDER (1954) in 3D using these glasses. This disc is noted for some bad “ghosting” (and it sure was apparent when we watched the movie using one of our earlier pairs). I would guess (though I do not know at present) that the “ghosting” will be somewhat worse with these glasses. Only time will tell …

All in all, however, I’d much rather have a brighter picture than a darker one. 3D glasses at best allow transmission of about 37% of the available light from the screen. That’s about what they all CLAIM. But I believe that this one delivers.

However, you yourself must make the decision as to which is more important to you: a somewhat darker picture with minimal or no ‘ghosting’ or a somewhat brighter picture with some more apparent ‘ghosting.’ (Admittedly ‘ghosting’ can be annoying.)

Your choice.

Please let me reiterate: we are using these glasses in conjunction with a video projector and a screen, not a 3D television. I cannot comment on how they would work with a 3D TV (and, in any case, to the best of my knowledge, no one is manufacturing 3D televisions any more).

As my title stated, overall these < Elikliv Active Shutter 3D Glasses Compatible with Sony Panasonic Samsung 3D TVs, Rechargeable Bluetooth 3D Glasses Compatible with Epson 3D Projector, TDG-BT500A TDG-BT400A TY-ER3D5MA (Pack 4) > are the best 3D glasses we own (and among the most reasonable priced) and I can VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to you.

Thank you for reading this and for considering my opinions.

Lawrence H. Bulk

Update December 17. 2020:
By carefully re-reading the instruction manual of my Epson Home Cinema Video Projector Model 5050UB I found a small “tweak” in the settings which allows for almost complete elimination of the crosstalk (“ghosting”) problem. The other night, after adjusting the projector, we watched DIAL M FOR MURDER which is one of the more notorious 3D discs known for crosstalk. That crosstalk was almost completely eliminated. Therefore these glasses are even better for us than they were when I first reviewed them. They are currently unavailable. I do hope that the manufacturer will create another run of them and that Amazon will sell them again..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. what is syncing….do i need to pair with a compatible 3d projector? please advise me thank you

they sync automatically when they detect the 3D signal from your screen, mine were just plug and play so nothing to do but charge and use. My projector is a Ben-Q 1070 and these work great.

2. These will work with my mitsubishi wd-65638 ?? =o

Hi yes because it says “Also works with Samsung DLP 3D TVs (2007-2010) and Mitsubishi DLP 3D TVs (2005-current)”, so your TV has the DLP required for these glasses.

3. Has anyone used these on the jmgo v8 projector

As long as the projector is “DLP Link” compatible.

4. Do these works with optoma UHL55?

Yes- As long as the projector is DLP-Link capable. Refer to product brochure. https://www.projectorreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/optoma_uhl55.pdf

To start….3D Prostore ROCKS!! They reached out and replaced my defective pair within days of my initial inquiry. And this was during the Christmas holidays!! For that, they get my 5 stars! To sum it up, these DLP compatible 3D Glasses works very well with my projector setup. Have viewed 2 movies so far without having to recharge glasses. They sync’d well with the projector and have yet to initiate the “invert” option ( a simple tap on the on/off button) Will be ordering additional units from this Vendor to add to my current setup. Thanks again 3D Prostore for going the extra mile and ensuring customer satisfaction! :).
