TOP 1000 REVIEWERVINE VOICE says: “I have extreme dry eyes and have tried pretty much every over-the-counter moisturizing eye drops for relieving dry eyes. These, for me, are the best, most consistently good drops for my eyes. I’ve done a bit of study on the active ingredient in drops for dry eyes and Refresh uses carboxymethylcellulose. It feels good when a drop of Refresh is put into my eyes and it lasts a bit, considering the fact that I don’t make oil to keep my tears from evaporating (which is the root cause of my dry eyes). I am always looking for that something better and

sadly, have not found it. Most recently I purchased Rohto Dry Aid drops that rely on povidone and propylene glycol – these drops sting a bit going in and they seem to last for only a few minutes before causing my eyes to burn. I mention this because it really is, for me, sticking with the active ingredient that works. I would highly recommend anyone with dry eyes to try a few brands, pay attention to the active ingredient and then stick with the one that works best for you and your eyes. As I said, for me, it is Refresh, hands down..

I also tried TheraTears dry eye therapy drops (which I normally use) too which worked well but my eyes still felt a little dry after. I also tried TheraTears dry eye therapy drops (which I normally use) too which worked well but my eyes still felt a little dry after. I had corrective vision surgery (Visian ICL Lens, not Lasik) so I’m a bit cautious.

After a quick search, I found this product. I wanted something “stronger” for my dry eye. I saw this product was meant for Lasik patients who had excessively dry eye so it seemed like the right choice. I also noticed this product had 0.9% Glycerin & the other active ingredient was 0.5% Sodium carboxymethlcellulose (whereas my usual TheraTears drops had 0.25% of that 2nd ingredient ). Since it’s single-use, it’s also preservative-free.

It seemed a bit pricey at $20ish for about 60 single-use containers makes it about $0.33 per use. But, it’s covered under Flexible Savings Account (FSA) so I was sold! Plus, if it works, who cares? Each vial contains about 7ish drops. I put in 1 drop per eye, let it settle for a few seconds then put in a 2nd drop.
**EDIT: The lid to the vial also “clicks” in place so you can save the rest to use throughout the day. I do not keep the same vial for multiple days. I’ll use a couple drops in the morning and a couple in the afternoon.

And…I LOVE THESE EYE DROPS! If you want something stronger than “regular” eye drops, buy this!.

9. Refresh Optive Mega-3 Lubricant Eye Drops For Dry Eyes, Preservative-Free, 0.01

Refresh Optive Mega-3 Lubricant Eye Drops For Dry Eyes, Preservative-Free, 0.01 Fl Oz Single-Use Containers, 30 Count

  • Preservative-free moisture-rich formula; On-the-go single use vials
  • Designed to relieve eye dryness that may be due to Meibomian Gland Dysfunction.
  • Delivers advanced hydration and lubrication
  • Supports all three tear film layers
  • Helps prevent tears from evaporating
  • The only eye drop in the U.S. with Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium, Glycerin, and Flaxseed Oil (an inactive ingredient)
  • Hydrocell technology enables hydration and maintains the volume of cells on the ocular surface
  • The Number 1 selling brand in preservative-free artificial tears; IRI Artificial tears preservative-free dollar and unit sales by manufacturer, 52 weeks ending 11/29/20
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. It lists ingredients carboxymethylcellulose sodium, glycerine, polysorbate 80. why is flax oil not listed?

Flaxseed oil is considered an inactive ingredient in the US so is listed elsewhere on the carton. In the US, some eyedrop ingredients are considered as “active” based on FDA Monograph rules. Many useful and protective ingredients are included in eyedrops, but those not classified as “active” will be listed separately on the carton.

2. are they preservative free

Yes they are preservative free, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. The manufacturer says you should only open a vial, use 1-2 drops per eye and then DISCARD the vial and all remaining lubricant. The reason is that because there is no preservative, any bacteria that gets into the opened vial will multiply like crazy and within a short period of time could become enough bacteria to create an eye infection after repeated use of a vial. These drops are far better than most others on the OTC market, but they are very expensive, especially if you need to use more than one vial a day for blepharitis, etc. At $24 a box (retail price) you are purchasing just 1/5 of an ounce (!) of lubricant in 30 delivery vials — that would be a bit more than a teaspoonful of lubricant total.

3. Do these eyedrops have flaxseed oil?

Yes, but as the fifth Inactive Ingredients. Active Ingredients, eye lubricants, are carboxymethylcellulous sodium, glycerin and polysorbate. BF has severely dry eyes and so far Retaine MGD has proven to be her go to drops. Nano Tears work but are only single use.

4. can they be used during the day, to drive, will they blur vision?

They do blur my vision for a few (2-3 ) minutes. I usually relax with my head tilted back to really get the benefit from the drop because the drop relieves the burning immediately to my irritated dry eye.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

John Kiat says: “I’ve been suffering from MGD for 10 years now. Have it pretty bad (i.e. lifelong “goggle-wearing”, eye-itching multiple-time lipiflow patient bad). Name an MGD focused eye drop on the market and I’ll bet good money that I’ve tried it. The only one that brought a decent amount of relief for me was the Optive Advanced (which used to be called something else way back when but I can’t quite remember what). I noticed this new release while picking up my monthly “fix” a few weeks ago. A quick label check showed it had pretty much the same active ingredients as the
Optive Advanced with the addition of flaxseed oil and some lipophilics. Figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a go. The first application didn’t feel too different from the advanced so I figured at least there was that. I was out of the advanced anyway so I figured I’d just finish this up and switch back.

A few weeks later and Hell No will I be switching back. Caution: I don’t want to build up the hopes of a fellow MGD sufferer out there too much. I know how devastating it can be to have new hope dashed. However, for me, after years of wearing goggles and craving my next eye-drop fix, I’m almost back to my pre-MGD days. I can wear my normal glasses, maintain eye contact and even hang out in AC environments without a care in the world. These drops have been life-changing for me and I cannot endorse them more. Of course, just because it works for me doesn’t mean it’ll work for everyone. It’s possible these perfectly resolve inadequacies in my tear film that aren’t an issue for you. Still, there’s no harm giving them a go and seeing if they’re the cure for you too!.

Amanda McKenzie says: “I work in a stuffy office building and often suffer from very dry eyes when I’m at work. I’m not a fan of regular eyedrops because they have so many ingredients in them that I can’t pronounce And I try to minimize my exposure’s to chemicals and man-made products as much as I can. Which is really really hard to do nowadays. I love that these eyedrops I made from plants. They do not staying a burn when you put them in your eye, and they do a great job of moisturizing and lubricating. When you initially put it in your
eye gets watery like it would with any eyedrop, but after you blink your eyes a couple times the eyedrop evenly disbursed as in your eye and seems to go straight to where it’s needed. I’m able to go several hours without having to reapply these drops when I’m at work. I will Continue to purchase these eyedrops as long as I continue to work in a stuffy office building and have dry eyes because of it..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. What makes these special for “Computer use?” Are they different from the dry eye version?

The active ingredients are different. I’ve bought the dry eye version to see if it would help with my strained/tired eyes like the computer use ones do, but it didn’t help me at all.

2. Will these drops work for light sensitivity?

They helped me.I bought 3 28″ LED monitors and were running at 100% brightness.I sit at my computer at least 10 hours a day, by the end of the day I just wanted to close my eyes, but then it was gaming time on the TV at 100% brightness.By now my eyes were totally dry and blurry.A couple drops in each eye provide tons of relief.

3. Why is it more expensive per bottle if I order 2 count instead of ordering 2 1 count bottles? Doesn’t make sense.

The computer price algorithm considers basic supply and demand. Not of customer demand, but price from suppliers. The supplier bases their prices on quantity ordered. That is, the more ordered, the cheaper the unit price. More single count are ordered than two count. I never assume that multi-quantities are cheaper than units. The big store we buy soap from, often has a cheaper unit price on small bottles than big bottles.

4. Does anyone use these with their contacts in? I find myself needing to use them during the day while I’m wearing contacts.

I would not use it with Contacts.. Similasan has a web set you can read.. I use the web set before I order my bottle. Am very happy with it.. Use it all the time.
Specially after I have been on the computer all day and half of the evening. Hope this answer your question. I be more then happy to answer you again

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Why is use limited to 6 weeks for Siccaforte and for Siccasan?

Siccasan and Siccaforte can be used for as long as you like! A single tube however should not be used for more than 6 weeks from initial opening. This is to ensure the gel stays clean of bacteria etc. So after the latest after 6 weeks of use we suggest disposing of the open tube and opening a fresh one.

2. What’s the difference between Siccaforte and Vidisic other than the manufacturer?

I am not familiar with Vidisic so I am unable to make
The comparison. I know Siccaforte work for me.

3. I can’t find Siccasan on Amazon anymore. Is it out of stock?

There are listings on Amazon currently – as fulfilled by Amazon – you can buy a single tube -with a coupon – or multiples of that and you can do “subscribe and save” -or there is a listing for a three pack – also with a coupon – figure out which works best for you – there was a shortage for a while because while it is manufactured in the Slovak Republic it is supplied to Amazon by Agepha Pharma which is a company in the Slovak Republic that has been in business since 1947 but it might have been held up in shipping products due to the virus

4. How often can you use?

Hi,
Thanks for contacting AGEPHA Pharma.
1 drop can be used between 3-5 times per day for both Siccasan and Siccaforte.

Regards
Team AGEPHA

I wrote the seller about a faulty tube with too much air, and he immediately sent me a new one!!!!
I know I sound like an info commercial, but I really am a customer for life. Oh, and I stopped using the $400 Restasis, which I have no need for..
