Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Is it made in the USA

Yes, they are made overseas, not in the USA. I’ve had my pan for 7 years nowand it’s used weekly, and more often in the winter months. I was a bit disappointed when it came and I realized it wasn’t made in the USA but decided to give it a chance. After 7 years of hard use I can honestly say it’s the best pot I have ever owned! It’s discolored a bit, not surprising with the amount of use it gets and all the soups stews and roasts I make in it throughout each year. But that hasn’t affected the pot at all. It is just a good as it was when I first bought it. I’m going to try the 1 cup baking soda and 4 cups water trick(boil 5 min let sit with the lid on for 2 hours) that I read about in one of the other questions to see if it will return to it’s original beige coloring, but even if it doesn’t, it’s still going to be my “go to” pot for everything I can use a dutch oven for 🙂 I highly recommend this pot, even though it’s not made in the USA!

2. I followed the cleaning instructions and after 6mths of use the interior is not slick anymore and everything sticks is this normal? Is there a warranty

That is because it is cast iron. Every so often, you need to “season” it, which is what makes the surface slick. The basic process is coating the exposed iron in high-heat oil, and heating it to a very high temperature for about an hour. There is a bit more to it, but just look up “how to season cast iron”. The oil you rub in and heat onto it fills the porous surface of the iron and makes it non-stick. To clean cast-iron surfaces, you don’t want to submerge in water or use soap on it. It is best to clean right after using, and overall just scrub any residual gunk off. You don’t even need water, usually! If you use a bunch of soap and water on your pot, it will just ruin the coating, and you will need to re-season it. If you take care of your cast iron though, it will be with you for life! 🙂 http://www.seriouseats.com/2016/09/how-to-season-cast-iron-pans-skillets-cookware.html

3. Flat bottom suitable for glass top range?????

Yes. I use mine on a flat top electric range all the time with no problems. I allow it to heat on medium heat and it’s good to go!

4. One of the reviews said you can’t brown meat in this pot. Is that correct?

I made chili in mine as soon as I got it, and I browned 2lb of meat as the first thing I did 1lb. ground chuck (85% / 15% fat) and 1lb. ground pork and then obviously many other ingredients, but it came out fine. I would think you can brown just about anything you wanted in it Not sure why you couldn’t?
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Brian says: “I gave 5 stars to the Lodge EC7D33 Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven for many reasons. First being that it has held up great under regular use. I waited 15 months to do this review was because time slipped by so fast, but normally when I buy cookware and kitchen appliances I wait a 6-8 months to see if they hold up or fail. This one has held up fine. I have used cast iron cookware for over 30 years now. Knowing that enamel is very easy to chip I treat it like it is glass. I take extra care not
to use metal utensils in them and never soak them in water for long periods of time before cleaning them. As with all cast iron I always heat them up slowly, never dry and never straight to high heat because that to can make the enamel chip or pop off. The same thing as heating them before cleaning them you need to allow them to cool down first.. For cleaning my Enameled Cast Iron only I use a worn out green Scotch-Brite Pad with some dish soap clean and scrub if needed. Mine are still nice and white inside and unchipped after many years of use. The newest one is the Lodge EC7D33 I use it weekly and I’m happy with it so far… If it holds up as long as my other old Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Cookware have, this one will be around long after I’m gone….

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Why can’t this be delivered to me in Southern California?

Most likely because Jetboil doesn’t want to get sued in case their product is used in the next major fire. California has become increasingly restrictive on camping stoves as of late due to to ever-increasing wild fire hazards.

2. Can you use butane/propane mix instead of isobutane/propane mix? Im not going in the mountains. Kayak trip in Arkansas.

You can use either. The difference between the butane and Isobutane is their vapor pressure point. Butane is the lowest perfoming with the lowest pressure and would not be good in a very cold environment.

3. Can other fuel cans work or does it have to be the jetboil fuel?

Other fuel cans are fine.

4. Is the ring you turn to increase flame supposed to be broken? It’s split in one part. Not sure if mine was damaged on arrival or if it’s meant?

No,return it and get a new one.because if you don’t turn it in the right way, it might force it to come off. If that happens, you have to put it back into its place

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. I was in Williams Sonoma last week and discovered some of LC is made in China. Why isn’t this information clearly stated on Amazon?

I’m not an expert on this and I don’t know for sure but a few years ago I was in the lecruset outlet store and all the products were made in China. My older pots have an embossed made in France on bottom of pan.So if it says that it’s still made in France. I’ve heard of and I’m not sure if this is the case with lecruset but sometimes companies have less expensive products at the outlets where I saw everything made in China.

2. Is the inside glaze of the cookware lead and cadmium free?

This question interested me.Here is the answer I found on Le Creuset’s Canadian website:”Is Le Creuset lead and cadmium free?Cadmium and lead are two elements under strict control in the cookware industry. Our position today for the entire production process is to be in compliance with California Proposal 65 which is the most rigid standard in the world for these elements (approx. 10 times lower than “acceptable” limits). Lead is NOT used in our recipes and for cadmium a special anti-acid enamel fritt is used which will not release the cadmium pigment during cooking. Cadmium is used for coloration purposes in achieving bright exterior colours such as Flame and Cherry. The interior enamel which makes contact with food is either sand, white, or black.”

3. What is the bottom width?

I have the 5 1/2 qt. pot. The bottom width is 8 inches. I love this size and enjoy cooking in it. It has been a great investment for me.

4. Does it say “France” under the lid of this 5.5 qt. french oven?

yep

11. All-Clad 4506 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe Stockpot with Lid

Size:6-Quart Stockpots are true do-it-alls when it comes to any liquid-related cooking. They have tall sides which reduce evaporation so thinner stocks and soups maintain their light consistency. With a wide, flat base, you can even Saute your soup ingredients right in the pot without having to use an additional pan. As part of our D3 Collection, this Stockpot features a bonded tri-ply construction made with a responsive aluminum core pressed together with 2 layers of durable, stainless steel all the way around the surface, for fast and even heat.

At 6 quarts, it is the perfect size for making food for the family with maybe even some leftovers. Handles & handle loops are made in China.

All-Clad 4506 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe Stockpot with Lid / Cookware, 6-Quart, Silver

  • 6-Quart stockpot with high sides and wide bottom – perfect for soups and stews
  • 3-ply bonded construction consists of durable stainless steel encapsulating an aluminum core for even heating throughout
  • Highly polished cooking surface with starburst finish offers stick resistance and easy maintenance, plus won’t react with food
  • Contoured stainless-steel handles permanently secured with stainless-steel rivets; capacity etched on base; flat stainless-steel lid
  • Oven- and broiler-safe up to 600 degrees F (without lid); induction compatible; limited lifetime warranty; Made in USA
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. What is the actual diameter of the 6Qt stockpot (without handles)? The dimensions listed by Amazon seem to be a little off.

The top lip of the pot is rolled so the outside edge to edge measurement is 11 1/4 inches. The interior wall to wall measure is 10 1/2 inches. The bottom diameter of the pot is approximately 9 1/2 inches before the flat bottom begins to curve up to become the sides. For this pot I usually use the 11 inch “circle” on my induction stovetop but the 8 1/4 circle works just fine also.

2. Is this 6Qt stockpot made in USA Pa?

Yes. The 7 quart stockpot is also made in the USA

3. Besides the weight (2 lbs less), what’s the difference between this pot and the other (same size, 3-ply, etc) that is $255?

The 4508 uses a different kind of stainless steel that is magnetic, therefore it can be used with induction ranges and stovetops. If you don’t have or plan to get an induction range, go with the cheaper version. However, induction is becoming more popular and those who have it seem to love it, so think long term.

4. What is the outside depth (from bottom to top rim) without lid? I’m trying to figure out if it will fit in one of my deeper drawers

It’s 5.5″
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Amazon customer says: “I have a 7 qt. Le Creuset Dutch oven. Unfortunately, my family is not as careful with it as I want them to be, and the enamel is showing wear. The other problem is that it is too heavy for me to use easily. I bought this pot to replace it. I am very happy. It is so much easier to clean and it is wonderfully conductive. I like the tight fit of the lid. Off the heat, things remain warm for a long time. I wish I had bought this pot several years sooner!

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Is the Cuisinart FCT22-20F pan OK for use on cooktops that are not induction?

I’ve been using the French made FCT22 Cuisinart pan set on stovetop for about six months and they just work fine.

2. Is it 18/10 steel?

MGrimm criticizes these pans of only being 18/0 on the exterior rather than “true” 18/10 stainless. The reason these pans are 18/0 on the exterior is for superior performance on induction cooking surface. An induction pan with 18/10 would have inferior performance on an induction cooktop. If you’re concerned about “pretty” rather than performance buy something else. But if you want superior performance using induction an cooktop, at a very reasonable price, these are the pans for you.

3. Glass lids or SS?

If you are trying to decide between glass or SS, get the SS lids, which this set has. I have the glass lid set, and I’ve broken one lid by dropping it.

4. What are the pros and cons of a stainless dutch oven as opposed to enameled cast iron?

It’s all about what you plan to cook. If something will be cooking slow for along time you’ll be better off with the cast iron. If you need a tomato sauce or 1/2 lb of spaghetti use the SS. Pro for stainless, cleans really well, much lighter, won’t chip(assuming enameled cast iron)
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Dr. Ginge says: “Wow. I wanted a new cook set. Luckily BJ’s were out of their Cuisinart Classic cookware. Thus I started to investigate the different options for cookware. I looked at several lines including all clad. Read all the reviews I could find and decided that I wanted the Cuisinart French Classic Tri-ply. My only question left unanswered, were the handles what I wanted? I went to several stores to attempt to see a piece and hold it. No luck. The pictures on line do not allow you a good view. So I just took a leap of faith and ordered. Very pleased
to say the handles are perfect and the pots, pans, lids are truly beautiful works of art. Makes you want to start cooking immediately. Highly recommend..
