Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Is this considered to be “non virgin” olive oil?

Not exactly. Judging by the manufacturers reply they don’t know there products very well because they don’t use any extra virgin. Under the ingredients it says “refined olive oils and virgin olive oils”. So there’s some virgin olive oil in there.

2. Can fully dented. Afraid to open

Good morning, Lisa! We want to sincerely apologize that your Olive Oil came damaged. We are shipped and sold by Amazon, so we do not pack our own items, which can sometimes lead to mistakes. This is an issue that we are aware of, and we are working with Amazon to resolve it. Please reach out to Amazon directly with your complaint, and if you are not fully satisfied with that resolution, please reach out to us directly at FilippoBerio.com/ContactUs. We recommend decanting the oil into another container to make everyday use easier!

3. What is expiration date?

Thanks for reaching out! The expiration dates vary based on the variety of olive oil and which shipment you receive. Most olive oils last for up to a year or longer. You can find the expiration date stamped on the bottle or tin that you order!

4. You have two oils offers with the same quantity one is evoo for 23.00 and another for 34.98 that is not evoo. what’s the difference?

One is an Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the other is an Extra Light Olive Oil. The Extra Light Olive Oil has a less strong taste and is an overall lighter oil whereas the Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a heavier oil. Take a look at our website FilippoBerio.com to compare the two oils in more detail!
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Penwriter says: “I bought this because it has a higher smoking point than virgin olive oil. I like to cook my dinners with this and it’s fantastic. It doesn’t flavour the food too much to the point that it’s very noticeable, and it gives food a lovely colour. It does pour oil very fast so I’d recommend putting it into a different bottle if you’re worried about that. Very happy with it and the only cooking oil I use.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Are there any other oils in it?

As I happened to be at its sister eatery, Prime Cuts, for lunch yesterday, I stopped next door in Frankies on Court Street Brooklyn and picked up a liter can of the olive oilits ingredient is listed as 100% organic extra virgin oilve oil grown, harvested. pressed, produced, packed by a named producer in Partanna, Sicily, Italy, with certification marks by both the Italian and USDA regulatory agenciesin short, it is the “real” stuffalso look at the grapeseed oilit has a high smoke tolerance factor and is used in the restaurant as its cooking oil and also as the base for its salad oilshope this is helpful

2. When is the harvest year?

Don’t know the harvest year on this one but as a rule of thumb Olive oil is usually harvested in the fall so you want to buy oil that is no older than 1 year old.

3. What is the date of harvest of the can I would be purchasing now?

Based on my own experience and other reviewers, you will receive oil with a harvest date 2 or even three years prior to the year you order it.
I would not recommend buying this product

4. Is the package BPA free?

My best guess is yes, it is BPA free because the innards are metal with no coating??

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. I have been reading about fake olive oils – is this one that has been having problems with the oil not being real olive oil?

S. Corcoran, excuse me but the Olive Oil Times does not agree with you on “firming up” being a reliable indicator of EVOO purity. They reported on research done by the University of California Davis Olive Center:”Seven oil samples, including EVOO, lesser grade olive oils, olive oil blends and non-olive oils were placed in a refrigerator and checked at intervals up to 180 hours. Although no samples fully solidified, a sample of EVOO mixed with up to 50 percent lesser grade olive oil congealed in the bottles, meaning it could be interpreted as passing the refrigerator test even though it was not pure EVOO. The study concluded that the Fridge Test is not reliable for determining oil purity or quality.” TThe complete article can be found at this weblink.

2. Is this ok for use in bedroom playtime…wink wink

Yes. The label “extra virgin” signifies that it works very well with one who is a virgin. Getting what ever you have into the tightest of places is not too hard with this product.

3. What is the harvest year?

Hmmmmmmmm, I wonder if you can look up the number put on products so the manufacturer can identify the batch and when it was bottled, or in this case canned (in case a particular batch poisons a couple of people, they want to know). Ah, find that number and access this linkhttp://blog.zoebrand.com/?page_id=417 (link also tells you where to look on the bottle or can)

4. Is this really for 1 Litre? The picture shows a 750 ml tin.

The one in the photo is the Organic version of the same oil, which is 750ml. The non-organic Zoe Extra Virgin is indeed 1 Litre.

It’s nice to have a variety of different olive oils that you can go to for different flavors and this one is definitely going into my arsenal. Also, this is a great price

Because generally food quality in Europe is by far better than in US, thanks to european food quality standards and no standards , or bought by US mega-billion-dollar conglomerates fake “standards” in USA. That allow US food manufacturers put all kinds of junk or even non-food items into colorful boxes with bright pictures and clever marketing, and then find ways to lower quality of ingredients to make billions
on unsuspecting customers who are exploding in weight and various diseases. Don’t let me started on “fast food” which isn’t food. But I digress.

This product is of true european quality. The one you find while traveling in France, Italy and Greece and trying their cuisines. I use it for eating and salads (no, vinegar is not part of my “dressings”, vinegar is preservative and not food). My wife cooks with it, I use other products – specifically glee – because their burning temperature is higher and you don’t get black marks. I’ve tried several other products, including top-20 here on Amazon like Partanna, they aren’t as good. In fact Partanna is sitting in the closet for the time when we’ll run out of Iliada.

Let’s turn this US food business around. We have enough people of european descent and enough people with money who are interested in real foods (not the food channel and not the marketing/propaganda such as “2000 calories per day”). There is a huge population of very sick people in USA due to fast food and packaged garbage mostly sold by supermarkets. If you buying pizza or you think burger and french fries is food, this review is also for you. Spare some extra bucks and buy this olive oil. You will learn something from the thousands of years of european food making traditions..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. What is the smoke point for this product?

I am not sure of the smoke point but I do know that if it is cooked on low heat there will not be as much or any smoke. I hope this helps.

2. Is this food grade? I understand its not virgin, is it still better then canola oil?

This oil is food grade. I read an article at some point that Kirkland oil is one of the better olive oils you can buy. Canola oil is not good for you since it is entirely processed.

3. I always thought that olive oil was strictly monosatuated and should not have any saturated fats or even polyunsaturated fats. Am I missing something?

I don’t think so but I was told that extra virgin olive oil is a good source to use.

4. what is the expiration date?

Expires 01/14/2018. I bought this March 8, 2016. Time to re-order.
