Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. I have 80k miles on my nissan murano 2010 and i don’t have oil leaking problem. should i still use this oil? or ‘mobil1 extended performance’ version

It’s really up to you. I’m not completely sure if it’s a seal conditioner additive that differentiates the extended performance from the regular mobil 1 but things tend to wear with age. Iput it in my 2008 V8 Pathfinder which didn’t have an oil leak issue and it works well. I converted over when it had about 90K on it. I also have a 19 year old car that was leaking oil and was significantly reduced when I used the Extended Mobil 1.

2. can you use marvel mystery with this oil

Yes I always use 1 qt of marvel mystery oil with 5 qts of Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic in my Avalanche. Marvel mystery oil is amazing stuff that keeps your engine clean and prevents/stops any noise from lifters etc.

3. Any thoughts about using this in an older ’01 engine? Used to use conventional; lately been using syn-blend.

Synthetic blend oil is 4 percent synthetic the rest conventional. That is all the requirement to label as a synblend. This is ideal for older engines and new ones.It contains 1000ppm of ZDDP.Almost all other oils on the market are at 600ppm which is way too low. Its as high as you can get without spending big bucks for specialty oils.Dump it in with a mobil 1 oil filter and change every 10k miles.Synthetic oil is conventional oil from the ground that has been re refined and enhanced, change back and forth without any issues.I run mobil 1 hm in 14 vehicles I am responsible for. They still suffer internal failures from the automakers sourcing their parts from the cheapest bidder and not hardening testing parts, and terrible timing chain manufacturers but at least the engine looks new inside.

4. Does this have any zddp for flat tappet cam engines?

Yes, all motor oils do.It just doesn’t have enough. This has between 600 and 800 ppm ZDDP.It has less every year.High lift flat tappet cam needs 1200ppm minimum. You can’t just add ZDDP to modern oil.It causes massive sludge build up.I found this out first hand.Started getting low oil pressure in a high lift cam in a BBC.Engine was full of sludge.Had less than 20k miles and frequent oil changes.Oil pump pickup was clogged, along with the rest of the engine.
Unfortunately, you should buy oil that has the proper concentration of ZDDP in the original blend. Its expensive, and conventional, not synthetic. No more flat tappet cams for me.Have to spend the $$ for roller conversions.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

BenTop Contributor: Pets says: “This is the only oil I use in my 2004 dodge ram 1500. It wants 5w-30 in the manual so that is what I buy. I live in North Dakota, so it is used in my pickup during very harsh winters. I change it at 5000 miles now that I drive a lot and it doesn’t look terrible when I drain it. I used to do 3000 when I would only put on 3k a year. In my opinion every 5k or at least once a year is sufficient. Don’t waste your money on the yearly protection crap. I’ve run this
since 100k and I have 140k now. The “hemi tick” isnt as noticeable with this oil as compared to others I have heard. I just changed it after towing around my boat all summer and then taking the girlfriend on a 2200 mile trip to glacier NP and it looked pretty good, not black, but a used oil brown. I only use Mobil 1 oil in my motorcycle as well, but a v-twin formulation. I also only use wix filters on both. I can only attest to the wix because I have cut open several of mine and I like the construction, much heavier and with metal end caps. Ac delco are similar, fram has cardboard end caps. Mobil 1 and a wix filter it is for me. This is about the same price as the local walmart but saves me having to walk into walmart…

It’s been a cold winter this year. No block heater and parked in the driveway at -25F and it still hasn’t blown up yet in the morning!

I took a photo on my desk today to show how much of this I use. I just used it on my sisters 2005 Buick Lacrosse 3.8L, 7 quarts for my pickup, and some more for my snowblower. It is really great oil..

Mike says: “If you’re not using Lucas products than I don’t know what you’re thinking. I have a 2013 Dodge Charger RT AWD and my oil psi is around 55 with a little gas and in the 40s when at rest. At WOT it keeps your pressure under 70 which would not happen with just pure synthetic (tuned for 93 octane, 20% throttle boost, K&N air intake, and a couple degrees of placed timing). I use 1 quart of this and 6.5 quarts of Castrol and you can immediately hear the sounds of friction diminished. This stuff is thick. Love it or Hate

7. Sea Foam High Mileage Motor Treatment HM16, 16 oz, Pack of

Style:High Milage Motor Treatment HIGH MILEAGE is specially formulated to help keep higher mileage gasoline cars and trucks on the road longer. HIGH MILEAGE works in fuel to clean fuel passageways and lubricate upper engine areas. When added to oil, HIGH MILEAGE cleans away harmful oil residues that can restrict flow. Just pour it in!

Sea Foam High Mileage Motor Treatment HM16, 16 oz, Pack of 1

  • Specially formulated to help keep higher mileage gas cars and trucks on the road longer
  • Add to fuel to clean fuel injectors and lubricate critical engine areas
  • Add to crankcase oil to help clean and prevent the common causes of oil burning
  • Reduce long-term engine wear
  • Use regularly to prevent rough engine performance
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. This item (Sea Foam Motor Tune-Up) oil additives? Or fuel additives?

seafoam is mainly a fuel system cleaner and it does work well. as for your oil, it acts as a cleaner also, targeting sticky valves, dirty port holes , dirty lifter issues etc

2. how does it do in motor oil

I just used Sea Foam in my oil for the first time. I have a 50 year old car with its original, never-rebuilt motor. The lifters have been tapping for awhile so I thought it was worth a try. I added Sea Foam to the crankcase oil according to the directions (1.5 oz. per quart of oil). I let the motor run for about 15 minutes. The lifter noise went away almost immediately. Afterwards, I changed the oil as normal. When I drained the old oil, it was noticeably thinner due to the presence of the Sea Foam. I added new oil and filter, and the engine runs like a top now. No more noise. This stuff is great.

3. I can run Sea Foam in the crankcase along with my oil at all times or just as a cleaner prior to changing the oil.

It says right on the bottle, you can add it in the crankcase 100-300 miles right BEFORE oil change.

4. It’s good to put it before fill up or after

Dump it in at the pump before filling up. That way the fuel rushing into the tank will mix it in rather than dumping it in after filling. Eventually it’ll attain uniform mixture but dump then pump will mix it right away.
What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Bree says: “I have an early 2000s Subaru with about 130k miles on it. I started encountering a rough idle in the spring of 2018. After trying a few usual suspects to no avail (cleaning the throttle body, changing the fuel filter), I shrugged and poured a can of Seafoam into the tank before filling it up. Result 1: the rough idle disappeared (though this could have been a delayed effect of the other treatments finally kicking in). I was more impressed, though, by Result 2: my rate of gas consumption dropped 2.5 MPG, enough that I was using over a gallon less
per week for the same commute. The can paid for itself in two weeks. I’m almost inspired enough to try the other advertised applications (putting it in the crankcase, or in the oil before a change)..

9. Castrol 03128C Edge High Mileage 5W-30 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil,

  • Maximizes short and long term engine performance on high mileage engines
  • Boosted with extra fluid titanium technology to increase oil film strength and reduce film breakdown

  • Improves fuel economy
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Does the Castro 5w-50 SPT meet the Ford spec WSS-M2C931-B for the GT 500?

Castol says it meets the spec, and Ford SVT has approved Castrol 5W50 for use in the GT500. I use this oil in my 2013 GT500.

2. is current product dexos 1 approved. I see it on the quart, but not on the 5 quart and wondering if it is an old picture

“Approved – GMdexos1™ supersedes GM-LL-A-025, GM6094M and GM4718M”This is indicated on the 5W-30 Castrol Edge High Mileage data sheet, dated 09Nov15.On their latest data sheet dated 20Sep17, this approved statement is no longer indicated.1 quart size or 5 quart size makes no difference. If the product was made after 20Sep17 then it is not likely to be approved for engines requiring dexos1.I would safely assume the bottle labeling will reflect whether or not using this as a suitable substitute over dexos1 type oil is acceptable. The picture is old and will, or should, be changed so their is no confusion.

3. I ordered this and it came with the letters SAE in front of the 5w-30, does it matter?

SAE refers to the grading system. There are actually thicker Euro 5w-30 oils, but this is a thin 5w-30 for American and Asian cars. This particular blend is the latest additive formulation for GDI / turbo engines, it should be one of the best products on the market.

4. Does this Oil suitable for 1999 chevy silverado 2500 186000 miles?

I have been using full synthetic oil in my 98 Silverado 5.7. I now have 364k miles with no engine issues at all. I’d recommend it for anything that takes 5w30

Jeffrey Smith says: “Once upon a time, my car (which I inherited at 120,000 miles) had a significant amount of piston slap during a cold start. After it warmed up, it would go away. Once upon a time, my car (which I inherited at 120,000 miles) had a significant amount of piston slap during a cold start. After it warmed up, it would go away. I figured it would be an interesting experiment to switch to synthetic oil to see what the hype was about and if it really made a difference in engine longevity, especially now that my engine was “getting on in its days”.

I got some of this Castrol 5w30 full synthetic purely because BMW and Triumph motorcycles use it as their factory fill. Maybe Castrol pays them to be the factory fill, but hey, if the engineers are happy with it, I’m sure it’ll be okay.

After the first cold start, I immediately noticed that the piston slap would go away by the end of the driveway, rather than most of the way to my destination. I figured that was a good thing. Oil is slipperier when cold, does a better job lubricating when cold, engine has less wear on cold starts. Brilliant.

One day, my friend told me that “all synthetics are the same” so long as they pass the same API certifications, etc. and you should just buy the cheapest one at the time. I found some oil from a company that starts with “valv” and ends with an “e”, and it was the cheapest, so I got that. Piston slap came back. Mind you, it wasn’t as bad as when I was using dinosaur oil, but it was definitely worse again.

After a very short 3,000 miles, I switched back to this Castrol synthetic, and the engine doesn’t slap at all when cold, the valves are quieter, it’s just generally happy! This Castrol oil seems to like to “stick” to surfaces in the engine, so that even after a weekend sitting in the driveway, come a cold Monday morning, the oil will still be on the metal surfaces to lubricate it even during initial startup.

I’ll definitely be buying Castrol for a very long time..

11. Archoil AR9100 Oil Additive (16oz) for All Vehicles – Powerstroke Cold

Archoil AR9100 Oil Additive (16oz) for All Vehicles – Powerstroke Cold Starts, Eliminates Injector Problems

  • 16oz AR9100 Friction Modifier- Treats one PowerStroke
  • Fixes 6.0 and 7.3L PowerStroke Cold Start Injector Problems.
  • For gasoline and diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, differentials and power steering systems.
  • Reduces wear and extends component life
  • Reduces engine noise, vibration, and friction heat.
Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Do you add this stuff in with the engine oil?

Yes, add with new oil

2. Does this work in any engine? I haven’t read anything to suggest it doesn’t but all the reviews come from only Powerstroke owners.

It works well in engines using a high pressure oil rail to power the injectors, not sure why you would run it in a Cummins or any other common rail or high pressure fuel/injector nozzle or gas engine, just run rotella t-6 synthetic oil and a good filter to keep those running strong for a very long time. Also nearly any diesel will benefit from a quality fuel additive, I find in all 6 of my trucks (3 brands) that power service diesel kleen will more than pay for itself in fuel Economy improvements alone (about 5-15%).

3. how about putting this in rear end oil with locker or limited slip gears..OK to do or not. Thinking too thick for transmission right??

You can use this in your rear end and your transmission. You will see great results in both. You can use the 9100 anywhere you want to reduce heat and friction. Not only do we sell the products we also have a fleet of 40+ vehicles that we use the 9100 in engine oil, transmissions, rear ends and power steering systems, also is great if you have front oil bath type bearing. Please let us know if you need anything else.

4. So i have a 2003 frd excur.6.8 v10 gas, how do i use this and this can also be applied where?

It’s made for dieseal engines and it’s a stictio reducer for injectors. I guess you could use it but I have only done research on the use of this in diseals.

James Kane says: “Bottom line: I have documented 50-55% reduced wear through used oil lab analysis (Blackstone) and it is mandatory in all my Diesel (truck, boat), Gasoline (daily drivers, weekend sports car) applications; also add 2 oz to power steering reservoir – much smoother and gone is the “loss of power steering” symptom in tight parking maneuvers with oversize (37×13.50×20) tires. On my 2006 F-350 6.0L (owned since new) I switched to synthetic 5w-40 (which Ford recommends for Severe Service, All Temp ranges per manual) – personally I used Mobil 1 then Shell Rotella T-6, mine ran smoother on the Rotalla. My 6.0L

My 6.0L started much better with the 5w-40 synthetic due to faster cold weather flow and the AR9100 made a big difference – mine used to run slightly rough below 30* and didn’t feel like it had full power until it warmed a bit after 5-10 minutes of driving – that “hesitation” (for lack of a better term) was cured by AR9100; the 5w-40 alone did not fix it.

I personally never exceed 5,000 miles drain interval regardless of weather, usage (towing, highway, stop and go) and use 16 oz of AR9100 at every oil change (keep a 1 qt bottle and use ½ oil, then add 16 oz of AR9100 during refill instead of the last ½ quart of oil so you do not overfill).

Remember HEUI injectors (hydraulically actuated electronic unit injector) in the 7.3L, 6.0L motors were developed by and licensed from Caterpillar and are driven by oil pressure and that is where stiction (any amount of oil sludge will cause it) comes in. Archoil has a money back guarantee – if it does not fix stiction, you get 100% refund but you likely need new injectors.

Be sure to use **CJ-4** oil; there is a new “CK-4” formulation since December 2016 demanded by the EPA which reduces zinc, phosphorus and viscosity – Ford issued a TSB and “CK-4” is NOT APPROVED BY FORD FOR ANY FORD DEISEL (Ford has a new Ford Material Engineering Specification WSS-M2C171-F1 (Google it) and Cummins issued CES20086 which several enhanced CK-4 oils are meeting but I would stay with CJ-4 while available) because of increased wear. Noteworthy is the “CK-4” diesel specification removed the valvetrain wear test (ASTM-IIIG) used on all previous diesel specifications, like the CJ-4 diesel oil spec. And yes Powerstroke haters increased wear will affect ALL DIESELS – Cummins, Duramax, Navistar, Caterpillar, Mack, Detroit Diesel, Mercedes-Benz etc….I guess the other brands (excluding Cummins) want you to buy a new truck sooner so have not opposed CK-4 – all the more reason to use AR9100 as CJ-4 is now harder to find.

To monitor the benefit of AR9100, I use Blackstone Labs (there are many labs to choose from) to perform used oil analysis – the labs give you a wear benchmark across the thousands of samples for your specific motor (they do this for gasoline engines as well if that is your application) so you have an index for the critical wear (iron, aluminum, copper – the reports explain where the wear is indicated based on metal type – bearings, pistons, block, cams/rocker arms etc), also silicone content will tell you the effectiveness of your air filter, coolant indicates head gasket or oil cooler issues, too much fuel dissolved in oil is an injector issue or way too much idling – well worth $30 in my opinion.

With full synthetic 5w-40 and the Archoil AR9100 in my 6.0L, my wear metals per lab results were approx. 60-65% less than the average for the motor. I now have a 2014 F-350 6.7L I bought new and am also using the same oil / AR9100. In my 6.7L I am observing wear that is 50-55% less than the index. Prior to trying AR9100 and only using synthetic oil I was observing 10-15% less wear than the index. I am a believer. Hope this helps..

Bannister says: “Instantly improved! My bronco is my pride and joy so performance is really important. I changed the oil but I put this stuff in first. Downside is it’s really thick so take care not to get it anywhere else. Other than that it’s effective. I’ve done a lot of reasearch on this stuff via websites and YouTube tests so it ain’t snake oil.

Jim was imprisoned for reasons unknown to me. Jim sold a similar sized plastic container for only $35, so $100 for the same amount seems like a complete rip off. But the product works exactly the same, and it really works well. I guess it’s the extra price we all pay to help a huge corporation get away with buying/stealing someone else’s hard work while they’re in prison.

I’m not lying either. I’m absolutely serious about once knowing Jim in Delafield WI. My sister even worked as a secretary of his chemical manufacturing business, and I dated Jim’s daughter for a few months. This product is a 99% exact replica of what he personally created, but never had the opportunity to popularize and profit from because he was arrested and imprisoned for reasons unknown to me..
