Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Organic! does each bee have a tracking amd remote control device to prevent them going to a flower with pesticides or is gmo?

Our organic blend in this bottle is sourced from protected Brazilian rainforests where the USDA can confirm there are no pesticides within a 5-mile radius.

2. Raw honey vs raw organic ? Which one is best . thanks

Both blends are very popular, so it is a matter of taste preference. Our Nature Nate’s 100% Pure, Raw & Unfiltered Classic Honey with the orange cap contains honey from select beekeepers across the U.S. and Canada. It is a blend of several vegetation including wildflower, clover and tallow. The honey with the orange cap is not certified organic, because it has honey from American bees and the USDA will not certify this honey as organic.
Our Nature Nate’s 100% Pure, Raw & Unfiltered Organic Honey with the green cap is sourced from Brazil and Uruguay. This honey is certified USDA Organic. Currently, our organic blend is multi-floral with the majority being eucalyptus. Nature Nate’s has one of the industry’s most rigorous sampling and testing practices in the honey industry which ensures that our honey is among the purest available on the market today. Our honey undergoes testing for additives such as rice and corn syrup, as well as pesticides, herbicides, and antibiotics. 4. how can the honey be organic and be from texas where there are gmo’s grown with herbicides and pesticides applied everywhere?

There might have zones for collecting organic honey like in Vienna there are maps to identify encephalitis virus free zones in woods. I think it is possible. Thanks.

I read a few of the negative reviews on here, and I feel that there are some misconceptions. Some reviewers say the honey must not be organic and raw because it’s too runny. Others say it must not be organic and raw because it isn’t runny enough. Others say it must contain sugar because it crystallizes. After doing my own research, I discovered that raw, organic honey can have different shades of color and different consistencies based on the nectar source. All raw, organic honey crystallizes over time, but the rate of crystallization depends on the nectar (the amount of natural sugar in the nectar) and how long the honey sat on a shelf before making its way to you. The honey I received from Amazon had crystallized, so I am guessing it sat on a shelf in their warehouse for a while. The honey I got straight from Nature Nate’s was perfect and delicious. I believe this is good quality, raw, organic honey, and I am very happy to buy it from a reputable, caring, Christian company. I will definitely continue to buy this honey..

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. what is the difference between the raw organic honey and the raw honey other than a plastic container and a glass container??

Honey does not need to be organic, but it definitely needs to be raw (unheated). Bees are very sensitive to pesticides and they wouldn’t go near a flower or plant that has been treated with pesticides (I come from a beekeeper family of over 7 generations). In fact the smallest amount of the pesticide would kill the bees, so there is no way honey with pesticide in it would make it to the hive. Bees would be dead way before it reaches the hive. But do not buy the garbage that the stores sell. It is literally no better than processed sugar, maybe even worst. Always, always buy “RAW” honey. If raw and in moderation should be good for health. Taste wise raw sage is great and light, orange blossom is flavorful but great taste, star thistle distinctive aromatic and tasteful also. As far as best for health (in general not specific conditions) is mountain honey ideally cultivated/collected mid to late summer (i.e. dry season). Of course Raw Manuka honey is best but I don’t thing quality and health benefits justifies a 10/1 price ratio to other raw honey. For example it is my opinion that RAW wild mountain flower honey from dry areas(i.e. Arizona, California, Nevada) is nearly as good health wise as Manuka honey yet at 10-20% of the price.

2. What is the difference between this and Y.S. Organics Certified Organic Honey?

Honey bees travel up to five miles and cover 28,000 acres. There is absolutely no way that anyone can guarantee honey as organic. It is raw if it was collected, filtered and bottled without heating. Honey being cloudy doesn’t have anything to do with being raw.

3. 1) how many year can we keep it on a shelves? 2) the raw one or the cook one that we can keep it a long time?

Archaeologists once retrieved 3000-year-old raw honey from the tomb of an Egyptian pharaoh and tasted it, it was still good. What does that tell you?

4. Does it say if the plastic jar is at least BPA free?

I don’t see anything on the jar itself. I don’t know what I did with the paper that came with it. You could most likely find that answer from the YS Ogranic Bee Farms at 2724 N 4351 Road, Sheridan, IL 60551. Sorry that I can be of further help on this matter. Chester

Based on my “research”, the majority of honey that you buy at a store is made to be spreadable through pasteurization. During the pasteurization of that honey, the yeast and enzymes are partially killed to make it appear more “appealing” to the customer, and eases the processes of bottling it for purchasing it on the shelf. The commercial honey is easier to spread because it’s been processed to prevent fermentation… This can cause problems if left on the shelf for a long time. The pasteurization also causes it to taste different.

* On that note, I do have to tell you that I was spreading this on my son’s toast the other morning and when I wasn’t looking, he scooped a big spoon of it out of the jar and shoved it in his mouth. The face he made was hilarious!! He has never tried raw honey and told me that it is the sweetest honey he has ever had. He said that, although, it was good it was WAY too overwhelming in such a large dose. Hahaha. He did agree that a tiny amount is much better than a spoonful. This is MUCH different than the honey he has been used to eating, which at times has consisted of him sucking it out of a straw.

Ok, so back to my amateur research… I found out that eating raw honey is healthier because it is alkalizing in the body. It’s qualities are similar to that of fruit and can be used to aid indigestion, relieve nausea, and give you a bit of energy. When you buy raw honey, you can expect to see a speck here and there because it is not processed to remove everything. So you may see tiny bits of honeycomb, bee wings, or something of that sort. This doesn’t mean it’s “dirty”, it means it’s legitimately raw. (Which is a good thing.) I have to tell you that when I read the reviews before, I was VERY worried about what to expect. I almost didn’t buy this… but now I’m glad I did.

I’m attaching some pictures to show you the crystallization. It comes out nice and rich, is incredibly sweet, and definitely worth the buy.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. If it’s made by american bees, why does the description say “imported from brazil?” do the american bees live in brazil?

Play on words is what companies do. There’s an olive oil grower,USA, that makes an American Blend. In fine print it discloses 50% California grown, and 50% Brazilian & Peru. It is an American blend. from North AND South America. The same with this honey company’s description it is made by American bees South American. Marketing keeps us on our toes. 😉

2. Is this made in the USA from USA bees?

When I first started buying nates it always said 100% american. Then they started with USA & Canada. I tried the organic and HATED it. In not sure where it was from. I have never gotten a regular bottle from anywhere outside of canada & usa. Usually if they try to sneak it by they MUST list where the product is from. They will usually post a little 2 letter country code. Usually in very small print on the back.

3. Is this honey pasteurized?

Victoria Cooper, the “Manufacturer” said in the first response that their honey “hasn’t been heated”.But the advertising above says the honey is “warmed”.It is very telling that they don’t tell you what temperature the honey is exposed to, or for how long.ANY added heat, for ANY length of time will start to degrade the beneficial enzymes that naturally occur in honey. So, is this a play on words, or are they trying to mislead you? They won’t definitively answer this question.

4. What was the outcome of the lawsuit claiming that the honey is heated and having syrup mixed in?

Here’s more on the story. They don’t report an outcome of the suit. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/consumer-products/food/881041-nature-nates-class-action-says-100-raw-honey-mislabeled/

Rick says: “As a child, 50 years ago, I grew up in the country surrounded by farms. We had a small orchard of apple, pear, peach and cherry trees. One of the neighbors, an old kindhearted German who I had problems understanding, asked if he could set up some of his beehives at the edge of our orchard. For this, he offered to give us some of the honey when he harvested it. He did give us honey every fall…much more than he should have. The taste and aroma of that honey I would never forget…it was the best I had ever had.

As you can imagine, over 50 years I have had so many different brands of honey I can’t even begin to count. None of them even came close to my childhood memory. On a whim, while browsing Amazon, I ordered this honey figuring I had nothing to lose. OH MY GOD… I was a kid again. All the memories of that honey 50 years ago came back in a flash….the same amazing taste. I went through half the container in a matter of a few days. They say you can never go back in time, but thanks to Nature’s Nate…I have..

2. Is this honey pasteurized? I’ve read unpasteurized honey is deadly

Where in the world did you hear that ridiculous rumor? Raw and unpasteurized honey is very healthy for anyone and everyone. Ony children UNDER the age of 1 year should not eat it because their digestive sytems are not yet mature.

3. is this wholesome raw white honey in a glass or plastic jar ?

4. It sounds like below is stating or implying that sugars are added to the honey final product? I did look up the labeling changes. So actually, t

On May 20, 2016, the FDA announced the new Nutrition Facts labeling rules for packaged foods. This new label now includes a line for “Added Sugars” to be listed on the nutrition facts panel. “Added Sugars” is a subcomponent of total sugars and indicates how much sugar is naturally occurring or has been added to the product during processing or packaging. We have not changed our sugars or sweeteners in any way, so no “extra” sugars have been added to any of our delicious organic sugars, agave, honey, molasses, and sweeteners.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. Does adding it to hot tea to sweeten it take away its natural properties, nutrients, enzymes and vitamins?

Since this is raw honey it is unpasteurized; therefore do not add to tea while it’s hot, if done you would loose the natural properties. The research I have done advises not to add unpasteurized honey to liquids hotter than 105 F or 40 C. Even the lowest temp used for brewing green tea is 160 F while black tea is brewed at even higher temps. If this honey is used, you would need to let the tea cool before adding. If you are looking to sweeten tea with honey, get the pasteurized and consume this honey in its natural state. I like to get a spoonful and just eat it for the natural properties.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

Granny says: “I used to eat white honey as a child when our Dad was with the Occupational Army – Air Corp after WWII. It is unbelievable in taste, appearance, and use. It is semi solid (like peanut butter) with a milder taste than yellow honey and a real delight to eat. Make SURE you buy the honey from Canada as it is raw and unfiltered – produced by bees from the Canadian Prairie. Not too sweet and very delicious!

NO! This is MELUKA HONEY. Our MELUKA HONEY is produced in Australiaand comes from the the TEA TREE PLANT (trees) native of Australia. This tree is known as Melaleuca Alternifolia from what the original Tea Tree Oil comes from.

The Manuka Honey is produced in New Zealand and comes another species of tea tree called Leptospermum.

2. Has anyone else received the product with no seal? The jar had no seal when I opened the jar, already removed.

If you received the product as the exact picture as is shown on Amazon, then we cannot answer the question and we will let the other vendor reply to you.

The product we have and send to our customers has a new label and comes in a slightly different container. The new container has no sticky seal inside, the seal is attached onto the lid. When you open thecontainer, the seal breaks away from the lid and it does not need the sticky seal inside. Unfortunately cannot attach a picture to this answer

3. Hi. since this honey is unprocessed. may i assume that it is unfiltered as well ? thank you.

There’s one stage of filtration to remove pollen. It also removes bits and pieces which no one wants in their honey, but it remains 100% raw.

4. How big is this jar exactly?

If you read the jar it says 9.7 ounce.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. So, it’s organic, but not usda certified because made in brazil?

Naturally sweet. Pure & raw 100 percent. USDA Organic. Certified Organic By: CO Dept. of Agriculture. Grade A. Pure, honest, honey. Our delicious, raw, organic honey is sourced from wildflower fields across South America and Mexico, and we work with local farmers to harvest the golden nectar. To maintain its raw, natural pollens, we gently strain and warm our honey just enough to pour into the jar. Just the way the bees intended. Sweet! Product of Brazil & Mexico.

2. What does BPA-free mean?

Bisphenol-A.

It’s a chemical additive in certain plastics that has some evidence for being a carcinogen. BPA-free of course indicates this isn’t present in the item in question.

3. Is it pasteurized

Have not read if its pasteurized..

4. I’m seeing conflicting information. this says it’s unfiltered but is it raw? does it say the word raw on the label? what temperature was it heated to?

In doing my research I see that Honey can only be called “raw” if it has not been processed, super filtered or heated. But remember, beekeepers do need to strain out huge pieces of wax. Letting the honey drip through a sieve under no pressure does no harm. Madhava Organic Very Raw Unfiltered Honey is Genuine, Premium Raw Manuka Honey. Some people feel that if they don’t see the word “raw” on the label than its not, because true Natural: Raw honey is direct and unfermented honey that hasn’t been pasteurized or processed in factories in any way.Genuine, Premium Raw Manuka Honey is one of the cleanest and has no lead and no pesticides and a very good quality. I don’t see anywhere on the packaging or their website where heat is used. You may want to contact them directly on their website for more information, however I believe it is raw.

What Real Customers Say About This Product?

greg edwards says: “not sure what is going on with this honey.first 22 oz. honey I received was good and it was what the picture showed wildflowers of Brazil ending with an icon of a bee.. next I pay for was 22oz. plastic jars with wildflowers fields across South America and Mexico. maybe a cheap counterfeit copy of the real Madhava honey by adding cheap Mexico honey with the Brazil honey and there is an icon of a green hornet nest at the end of the info. .i am waiting for the company to call me.guess what? Madhava calls me about the honey. ask
them about the blend of South America and Mexico honey. Madhava told me this was a new blend to make the honey smoother taste. for myself I said, it was not as good as the Brazil honey and I would not buy South America and Mexico.if you like the Brazil blend then call Madhava and tell them this is what I want to buy in the future. Madhava sent me two free jars of the Brazil honey for my feedback on their product. finally received an answer for the plastic jar of honey.the company told me they were changing to plastic jar because people said they found glass in the honey..

19. GloryBee, Organic Light and Mild Honey, 5 LBs, 100% Pure, Non-GMO,

Style:Light & Mild We’re proud to bring you a premium clover honey that preserves the benefits of organic eating. Enjoy the light, smooth flavor of this certified organic classic in your cooking or as a spread. Sourced from organically farmed fields in remote areas worldwide.

Most Frequently Asked Question:

1. How is this certified as organic? How do you regualate where your bees get pollen to make sure that it is from organic sources?

Thank you for asking! Because there is no real way to direct bees, one of the major requirements for organic certification of a hive product is that the hive bee surrounded by about 5 miles of organic land. This buffer zone ensures that organic hive products are created from organic plants.

2. Is this honey from India?

This honey is NOT from American honey bees. The bottle I received is from Brazil. As stated on the bottle, the honey is sourced from around the world and I assume combined and packaged in the US. While this technically means it is “made” in the US as advertised, by buying this product you are NOT supporting the American honey industry or American honey bees.

3. Does this honey taste like medicine or a slight taste of molasses? Does it have extra sugar added to it?

No sugar added. I don’t think it has a hint of molasses nor does it taste medicine-y

4. Is the plastic container for the organic clover honey bpa free?

Thank you for your question! All of our plastic is BPA free, including the organic clover honey container.

Amazon Customer says: “I saw a handful of negative reviews for this product, so I was a a bit curious how this honey would be when it arrived. You’ll see my jug of honey is a Product of the USA, and also came with a safety seal under the lid; it isn’t crystallized at all, and didn’t leak either… so I’m pleased. The flavor tastes like honey. People who were saying their honey tastes like molasses– it’s possible! There is so much variation in honey! Again, it’s made by bees from a field; embrace the variations! If your honey was marked as coming from a different region of the world, maybe it was just the right season for honey harvesting there at the time. Why do you assume that Ukranian or Indian beekeepers don’t care for their bee colonies as well as American beekeepers do?

Remember folks, honey is going to taste different season to season, year to year, bee colony to bee colony, bee to bee. Honey isn’t a chemical that’s manufactured in a factory with a strict recipe we can control– this is a product made by insects, based on flowers that also vary season to season based on rain, soil, etc.. Embrace the variations.

If it’s crystallized, just remember that’s normal. Honey crystalizes because it’s *real!* It is not defective– it’s just a matter of how much fructose vs glucose the honey has in it, and again, that’s all variable season to season, flower to flower, bee to bee.

If you’re worried about not being able to consume the whole jug of honey before it naturally crystalizes, consider pouring and storing it in some wide-mouth Bell Jars; that way if it does crystalize you can still get it out with a spoon. (Crystalized honey is perfectly safe to eat. Remember rock candy as a kid? That’s crystalized table sugar. Crystalized honey is the same deal. Totally safe.)

Happy honey-ing!.
